Doesnt change the facts here that some people might find the chair more inconvenient or if the job gets too busy to sit.
"Some people might not like it so no one should have the option" isn't an argument because then the fact that people find it more convenient holds weight too. And since you still don't get it after being told twice already, people can do this miraculous thing called standing up.
And this might be extremely shocking to you but the people that don't want a chair could just ignore it.

Also bot a bootlicker, no where do I disagree with the option for a chair and I would more argue in favor of having more breaks for cashiers to have.

I had to get a note from my doctor to have a chair at CVS.

Not that it mattered since they eventually cut staff hours to the point where it became impossible to have time to stay in one place.

Now I sit whenever the fuck I want at my current job

Stop lying about this obvious bullshit, not once did you agree that they should have chairs but you made up everything you could as to why them getting chairs shouldn't be a thing.

Here's a very simple yes/no question, nothing more. Should they have access to chairs?

Not lying at all.

And should they? Sure. Is it going to be something that is practical? Probably not as often as you think it would be.

If its not practical then why is it a thing in so many other countries?
There is literally proof that it doesn't cause issues.
There is no single feasible reason to deny cashiers chairs and the ability to sit.

What other countries do it? What is the expected workload of a cashier? How many people do they end up helping at any given time?

And again not denying that they shouldnt have the ability to sit Im more questioning the practical nature of doing it based on their job.

I have worked retail in the past, and I am telling you that your "concerns" ate entirely unfounded.
There is no negative to them having a chair, and a large chunk of what they can do is able to be done sitting.

The literal only reason not to do it is an insane, outdated power trip about "professionalism".

I worked a cashier-like role in the military for about a year cuz my flight chief thought I deserved it . I was responsible for keeping track of tools and assigning them to the aircraft maintainers. We had barcodes placed on each tool and equipment so we checked them in and out with the barcode scanners. Kept track of them on the computer. They allowed us to sit most of the day too. The only time I stood up was to verify tools were in the toolbox and when I went out on my hourly smoke break. It was pretty chill overall.

I got to play oldschool runescape a lot on my phone WHILE sitting down. That was dope af.

I can't believe people have problems with cashiers sitting lol

Europe, the place that has them, has more productive cashiers. Then there's the fact that having access to chairs reduces back/leg pain, reduces the risk of heart diseases and gives them the option to rest.

And lmao at thinking that downplaying it once again is a good look. I said nothing more for a reason but of course you can't help yourself and have to come up with more shit.

I worked retail too and I have done just fine without the need of a chair. So those concerns are often going to vary from person to person anyways. If people want a chair fine thats fair but depending on retail it might not be as practical as you think.

Wouldn't be surprising if he actually thinks that since he still doesn't get that people can just stand up or ignore the chair.

Just going to leave it at this. If there are things saying it helps them the good. Doesnt really change my opinion on the practicalities of them since different stores have different levels of work to be done being a cashier. If people want them fine, if not thats fine too. If it helps it helps. I can only base my experience in my country and by my personal work experience.

I've had jobs tell me I couldn't drink or eat in front of customers, whether I'm off the clock or not.

I worked as a cashier in a KMart once as teenager and one time I was headed to the break room (break was scheduled. I had informed the rest of the front end including whoever was supervising) and on my way back, some customer asked me where to find something. I didn't really know what to do. I just said I was on break and didn't know where the product she was looking for was (I was pretty new and only worked up front. I didn't know where things were) but I offered to help her find another employee who would be better able to assist her. One of the managers turned into the aisle so I went to him for help and instead of just helping, he chewed my head off for "saying that I was going on break" because apparently that was something that was terrible to do. It took a lot to hide my temper from that asshole. I wouldn't have cared about being fired because it was a summer job and KMart was already tanking in general and this location was falling apart literally (several aisles were blocked because of water/ceiling damage). I held my tongue, but I hope that motherfucker never found work again after that place closed a few months later. He clearly had a complex on him. Not trying to body/age shame but he was a 50-something unkempt scrawny "manlet" as people say. I hadn't had a bad interaction with him before and had never disrespected him. If I had brushed off or ignored that customer or just been like "sorry, on break, not gonna help ya lol \_()_/," I would have deserved a talking to for sure because that's just rude. I tried to help as best I could within the context of the situation and he was a complete prick about it. The poor customer just looked awkward to have been caught in the middle of whatever that was. I wonder if that dude is still alive lol?

It really was. But hey, it was just a summer job and they went out of business with the next several months. He was probably just stressed out knowing he was about to lose his job and just took it out on me, which makes the closure of that place that much sweeter. All the other managers were cool though. I never had any issues with any of them.
