Board 8 > I recently marathoned Demon Slayer. WTF is with this insane animation?

Finished the Entertainment District Arc. The show itself is above average shonen stuff, feeling like Bleach if Bleach didnt suck.

But whats blown me away is this animation quality. Im not familiar with ufotable but these fight scenes are better than most big budget movies. Is Demon Slayer an extreme outlier or are there other solid shows with amazing fight scenes that Ive missed out on?

also Im assuming the anime follows the manga pretty closely, but is it worth checking out?

Yeah Ufotable does some really good stuff. You should check out Fate/Zero if you haven't already.

Ufotable gonna Ufotable. This is definitely the standard for the studio. Even their mid stuff like their Tales of adaptations look better than a lot of anime.

Absolutely go check out all of their Fate content. Zero, Unlimited BladeWorks, Heavens Feel. It's all absolutely gorgeous.

And yes, while it's insane popularity has resulted in a lot of backlash as anything popular does, I still thank the manga is quite good and worth reading. It's a consistent level of quality that a lot of popular Shounen nowadays *coighjujutsukaisencough* just haven't been able to maintain. And most importantly, it's done!

Ufotable has pretty much always just been at another level. Second Fate/Zero as an excellent work of theirs.

Definitely watching their other stuff, thanks for the recs.

F/Z is very often listed as one of the best modern anime for a reason!

It is definitely better than UBW, but make no mistake, UBW is also very, very good!

Just a thought, is Ufotable suppose to be pronounced as a Yufo-table or U.F.O.-table?

Fate/Zero top 3 anime. Ufotable top 1 studio.

I too recently watched Demon Slayer and yeah the Entertainment District fights were insane. The last two episodes + the first episode of season 3 are coming to theaters beginning of March. Couple of my coworkers and I are gonna go see it and we're hyped!

F/Z is fine, but UBW is def better. hate for me to evaluate the UBW anime in a vacuum though since my memories of the VN color it so much

demon slayer is incredibly animated but i actually found the plot/characters tedious and have had a really difficult time getting through it

I haven't read the VNs and don't care about Shirou, so obviously my opinion is gonna be colored as well. Overall I like the characters of Zero way more too, especially as far as the servants go, there's not even a comparison there as far as I'm concerned. The setting of Zero is just infinitely more interesting to me.

Maybe this is the difficulty of adapting a single route of a multi route VN into a show versus adapting actual novels.

At least Ufotable gave Shirou a cool jacket. That at least doubled his quality in my eyes lol.

Also much prefer UBW to Zero. Though I also just really personally dislike Kiritsugu and that saps a lot of interest in Zeros story.

Since you mentioned Bleach Ill recommend the TYBW anime, its miles better than the OG anime in animation and production quality and the manga in storytelling.

My niece is really into it but I haven't watched it yet. I never have energy lately to watch anime or anything else...

Zero has, imo, a better cast. I just find shirous whole thing so tedious. Not to say that parts of zero didn't just kind of drag on. That said too I like Rin so she kind of balances things out. But I found the end of ubw to be just so "I don't really care"

I'm not really a huge fate fan, but it does have some great animation quality.

Kyoto animation is still number one though. WIT has a good team too it's pretty obvious in the quality drop when MAPPA took over aot, okay maybe not obvious but you can tell on side by sides. Which just shows how good WITs team is since MAPPA is not a slouch. PA works has really good looking shows also, but it's too bad in their case they their offerings are often pretty mediocre.

As for demon slayer. I still have not seen s2. However, it is like one of those things where I kind of feel like not a lot has actually happened to progress things so far. I like the nezuko run memes though
