Yeah, he's still kicking.

The other notable Black TV dad of the 90's, James Avery (Phillip Banks) passed away in the mid-2010's.

I mean with as much damage as he does to the Winslows' home I imagine they'd be pretty much uninsurable if he was still in the neighborhood

We all liked to pretend that Reginald Veljohnson was playing the same police officer character in Die Hard, Ghostbusters, and Family Matters. From now on, that character's name is TV Dad.

I would say that it's a bit silly that Family Matters and Ghostbusters are set in the same setting, but considering that Family Matters went hard on sci-fi wackiness as the series went on, I guess it fits.

Family Matters also had its share of action. I remember that time they used "Bruce Juice" to channel Bruce Lee's fighting ability and take on a gang. It's not too far removed.

God Bless. I loved his response where he said, "We're divorced now," when asked about Krang.

Man, the sitcom era up until 2008 was the last time I watched shows like that, it always was odd whenever they got super wacky and supernatural like that one time on the drew carry show daffy duck showed up or that time he got the batmobile or that time the devil showed up or hell anything to do with Drug.co, when I got older I realized that whenever things got like that it basically meant the writers were out of ideas and just wanted to dick around, it happened a hell of a lot in the 90s sitcoms to like Martin, Married with Children, The Parkers, Jamie Foxx, and so on and so on. Supernatural elements coming into play = "we were bored/we didn't feel like writing a serious plot this week".
