If we were really trying to bring democracy to Afghanistan, we should still be there now chipping away at it. That isn't why we stayed. We stayed so that suits could profit from the war. Most reside in the South of the USA. The Southern USA has the highest obesity rates in the nation, over 30% are obese. Not overweight, obese, damn near a third of them. Military doesn't take fat kids, you need to meet a weight parameter to join, along with a taping (not sure anymore) around your waist. A lot of these obese kids become obese adults, and cannot join because they are too large. Every time they get rid of that system, the military suffers recruitment problems.
