I'm staring down chapter 17, the battle looks quite intimidating, and it's really late, so this seems like a good time to save and take a break. I just recruited Rosado and Goldmary in 16, and I'm really sad that I couldn't find a place on my team for Rosado. I really wanted to use him, but I've got a good core squad of 12 characters right now and I just couldn't think of who I could possibly drop for him. Maybe I'll use him in a future playthrough.

On a non-gameplay note, Timerra and Merrin have made late pushes in the race for best girl. It's between those two, Citrinne, Yunaka, and Anna now.

Sage Anna seems like she's got some ridiculous potential.

I definitely plan on using her in my girls-only second playthrough. I benched her early on and didn't find out about her hidden potential as a mage until I was well past the point where she could realistically catch up level-wise.

If you've seen the Yunaka supports with the dancer you'd know she's the best out of everyone you named

The only supports I've really seen from her are with Alear and Citrinne, but Yunaka/Citrinne was very good and basically gave us Yunaka's whole childhood backstory. It raised her higher up on my list for sure.

Can I just say I really enjoy the map design in the game. Especially in this later part where I only have a few rings. It's so refreshing coming off of Three Houses where you can play below Maddening and still feel your feet held to the fire due to how the maps are structured.

Chapter 23 / 24 / 25 maps are some bullshit I gotta say. Definitely the highlight of the game. Final boss map is complete garbage by comparison.

Oh I'll check those during my next playthrough. I went with Ivy for the special bond rank, naturally. She's just too goth and beautiful and has such a lovely voice.

Though Yunaka's other voice she does like during her crits, that is really good as well.

Man, I wanna learn Yunaka's backstoy (she was totally an assassin, wasn't she) but she's taking so long to raise support with and I deploy her on almost every map. I don't think I've reached B yet. :\

Alear is only 17? I thought they were 20-ish like Byleth.

Chloe is one of my best units right now. Promoting her as a griffon knight with +5 slim lance and shes whooping ass. Lots of crits and she can heal others if need be

Chloe has solid dex growth naturally so she'll do great in the role, framme might work depending on what you had her as up till now

I went WK on Chloe she trades speed for strength. But not as much as it looks because she gets more build. But Chloe has speed for days, so I wasn't worried about the trade off.

Also swords gives her a light weight weapon to use and work around the weapon triangle. Which opens up her ability to move around the map more without fear of getting broken.

My Framme was above average for magic and below average for strength so she went High Priest.

And tbf, she does handle herself well Whenever she gets attacked, she dodges and then punches them twice, usually causing death Though Griffon Knight sounded stronger, and would have range that works great for healers But Chlo also seemed like a good choice Thats why I was wondering Plus, Im not exactly sure how the promote system works, but I think Chlo would be able to just go there, while youd have to do a little extra for Framme, right? Like how you have to do with Anna to make her a sage

Framme is built around the chain guard mechanic. Definitely go Chloe, however try to get her a flame lance. She has better magic growth than strength.

Each class has two promotion options. Each option has weapon profiency requirements. Every character in a base class will have come with profiencies to promote into at least on of the two options.

In this case Chloe has a profiency in Lances and Staves. Which means the only thing she needs to do to promote to Griffin Rider is reach level 10 as Griffin Rider requires Lances and Staves. If you wanted to promote into a Wyvern Knight, the other flyer promotion, she would have to aquire an Axe or Sword profiency to do so, because even though she's a Peg Knight, she does not naturally have the Sword or Axe profiency required by that class.

Framme, as a Martial Monk has the promotion options of Martial Master (Punches and Staves) or High Priest (Punches, Staves, Tomes). Framme has a natural profiency in Punches and Staves, so she can promote to Martial Master by default. To make Framme a Griffin you need to get her to level 10 and promote to Martial Master. Get a Sword/Axe/Lance profiency on her by increasing her bond with an Emblem. Then use a Second Seal to make her a Griffin. I'd strongly recommend Swords as she'll be a good Levin Sword user and Levin Sword outclasses the Flame Lance so badly, it honestly feels like a design oversight.

To get Framme as a Griffon Knight, you'd have to get her proficiency in either Swords, Axes, or Lances by leveling her bond up with an Emblem that grants one of them. I got her Lances from Sigurd, but there are other options too. After that, you promote her from Martial Monk to Martial Master with a Master Seal, and then (since you have the other weapon proficiency) you can class change her to Griffin Knight with a Second Seal. Always promote with the Master Seal first and then Second Seal into the other promoted class (except for maybe Anna because the extra levels as a mage will really help her stats) because using a Second Seal resets the character's visible level but not their internal level and their experience gain rate.

Chloe would probably be the better option (and definitely the option with less investment needed) but I got so lucky with Framme early on that stat-wise she just blew Chloe out of the water and I dropped Chloe around chapter 11-12. Or you could have Framme use another weapon type besides Lances (probably Swords, she wouldn't have the build for Axes) and just use both of them.

It's fine to bench her if you're playing casual but if you're playing classic be warned her early levels are the worst shit in the game and she dies if someone looks at her funny and leveling her will become much harder

I don't mean bench her immediately. Use her when you recruit her, ideally with Micaiah's Emblem so she can non-combat level to 10. Then if you don't have the Master Seals available, which is a common chapter 8-13 problem, either keep using her as a fighter (which does become difficult after chapter 10) or bench her until a master seal becomes available. And like deployment on 12 and 13 is super tiny anyway so someone is getting benched regardless. And chapter 11 isn't always the best place for a 4 move squishy unit as a whole.

That said, I'd just go ahead and say if you are committed to going Magic Anna you should probably just go all in and prioritize giving her one of your early Master Seals so you can skip the whole dilemma.

While it is slightly tempting to have my entire army chilling around the place in bikinis and swim trunks, I agree. I haven't changed any outfits yet, and unless I go for the silly novelty idea I just mentioned, I don't see myself changing any at all.

You can class change her out of the dress. She makes a not so bad mage knight but you lose staves.

Are you playing on Normal? I'm on Hard and it was...well...hard.

This map had me making use of Warp and Rescue staves and I almost never use those. And after killing that second beast causing the remaining bosses to aggro...yeesh.

Must be a nightmare on Maddening.

So, I do have a master seal. I got it from Annas level. One of the chest had it. I was able to catch the thief from that level and beat the master seal out of him (I killed him and took it). So, I guess I should use it on her. What should I change her to? Because I need a second one to change her into a Sage

I changed mine into trunks. Its a beach party all day long at my base. People even go swimming. Both Alfred and Vander (at different times) were swimming back and forth. And at one point, Clanne and Framme were playing in the pool splashing each other

I like to imagine that Somiel is like a giant helicarrier that just follows the protagonists from the sky and that's how they are able to easily go there and back.

Can I get an explanation for dummies why you'd master seal someone before second sealing them? For reasons that exist I want to promote Anna into a class that says it requires lvl 10 in a base class not her starting one. I'm supposed to master seal her into an advanced class and then second seal her into another base one?

You don't need the base level requirements if you are already promoted. You just need the weapon proficiencies that promoted one needs via emblems.

Right away. Promoting does not impact internal level. So your experience is gain is unaffected.

But yeah you clearly aren't intended to save it. You'd also likely be murdering the person who saved the place.

That said, I can't stress how much I'm happy side objectives are back after being absent in Three Houses.
