From what I recall from a previous case, a guy had like 1TB of CP on an external drive, and they use videos like currency. Trade 1-1 or 1-3, etc., depending on how "desirable" the CP is.

There are things like Monero that people use also, but barter is the main way transactions are done.

This isn't atypical for child porn possessors. I'd say law enforcement usually just charge a sample, 10-20 or whatever, to get the ball rolling.

I don't think I've ever seen a charge for literally every image. Sheriff's Office probably just wanted some publicity, which they're obviously getting.

Every single time these monsters are discovered, they need to be made examples of. I think life in prison is the bare minimum. I dont see a reason why he shouldnt be held in solitary confinement for the rest of his life either.

It varies based on the actual content. There's a lot of CP charges involving 17 year old girls and if the police can't immediately determine which of the images are actually illegal they only charge for the definite stuff at first and then revise them later.

But charging for every single image or video is normal otherwise.

Deterrent. In a high profile case like this they need to be made an example of. And isolated confinement is already implemented in most/all prisons? Hes caused untold hardship for the children he has victimised so his comfort is on the bottom of the priority list.

That's a fuck of a lot of child porn. Hopefully they were able to get into the community and get more than just this one guy. Shut the entire network down.

Can't keep people in solitary beyond a certain time frame. In my state it's 30 days I think. Beyond that needs regional directors approval. Where I work though they try to keep the sex offenders together.

Where I work it ain't much worse. It's a adult daycare. only thing that's punishment is the shitty food. They have tablets now that they can watch movies on and play video games.

That said sex offenders tend to be the most well behaved inmates.
