I turn 30 next year and the closer I get, the more I am looking forward to my 30's.
At first I enjoyed being young and carefree and having no hangovers, but not being broke and being able to travel is pretty nice lol.

For those that have experienced both, which did you prefer?

If you are in your 20's, are you looking forward to your 30's?

Depends if you're manage to move forward in this economic climate or not. I keep hearing about some people having to sell their house and move back in with their parents because of how fucked up everything is. I could imagine that would put a damper on your 30s.

For perspective, older people still see early 30s as an age they can still call you a kid

Yeah, but I think we all get a shock at 30 because while not ancient, we aren't exactly in the "young" category and honestly bad things come with aging after that. Not to mention, the switch of decade do hurt

Honestly my 30s is kinda ballin. Only things I miss about my 20s are being on a college campus surrounded by girls, being 10lbs lighter and in shape, and my knees not making concerning sounds when I stand up even though it doesn't hurt. And I guess slightly less of a widow's peak but I'll just shave when it becomes too big of a problem.

Actually having money to do a lot of things I want to do, no stress at work, and living in the metro area of a big city while being a homeowner is kinda kewl

I had so much fun in my 20s. You hear all the stories about celebrities partying in their 20s, but I guarantee they didnt party as much as I did.

I settled into being a father and a husband in my 30s. I still party, but not nearly as often. Now its all about house payments, tuition payments, and keeping my wife happy and these kids healthy.

I hit 40 this year and I see no sign of that. Just do physical stuff and eat ok and unless you're a pro athlete its not a significant thing that has any real impact on the average person. Sure if you spend 20 years being sedentary and eating like shit its gonna catch up with ya... but from a pure age standpoint 40 shouldn't feel physically old tbh.

Jaromir Jagr is 50. Yoel romero is almost 50. Ovechkin is 37 and still putting up 50 goals in all likelihood despite people always saying his play style was to physical to not fall off.

Also 20s were more fun cause I partied so much but 30s were almost as good and I wasn't constantly broke.

My thirties have definitely left me a shadow of my former self-physically, but I was a pro-athlete. Its not just that the dip is noticeable, its also that my body is a bit broken from my lifestyle in my younger days.

Dont get me wrong, Im still in better shape than a lot of people, but Im nothing compared to what I once was.

Ive never been pro or done anything beyond an amateur level so I can see where it's true if you were that level of peak performance. Ive beaten the shit out of myself in bjj, boxing, bmx especially, and just by being a carpenter for a long time before i switched careers.

As far as average joe level don't think 40 is much different physically from 20. I haven't taken very good care of myself but besides basketball and biking I beat 20 year old me at literally everything. 20 year old me would destroy me playing basketball 1 on 1 though. Hell 14 year old me could heat me at basketball.

I liked my 20s because I had less responsibilities, hot as fuck college chicks everywhere, and I had more energy, but I also had way less money.

But I do like my 30s too because I'm still mostly the same physically but I also feel more mature and wiser, and I have way more money >_> I do miss having more energy and being surrounded by hot college chicks tho

My 20s were a turbulent decade of NEETdom, the peak of my obesity, and drunken debauchery that set me up for nothing but misery by the time I turned 30. A lot of fun was had that I cherish deeply, but less so as time goes by and I realize just how much it took from me.

The first half of my 30s has been full of genuine growth and healing, making amends, and working on a more stable future. I'm in the best shape of my life and finally actually living, not just existing. At least as far as things I can control go, I don't see any reason it won't keep getting better.

Oh I'm sure they did. Obviously jagr and ovy aren't at their peak regardless how good they still are. Yoel now is probly able to smash 20-25 year old yoel tho

But for the average person you can do all the thing you ever did and not be held back by age or really feel much difference.

20-27 were spent being broke as fuck and stressed and anxious all the damn time.

Bought a house at 27 and got a sweet job at 29

I think that the average person can maintain or even improve from the shape they were in during their teens and twenties as they get older (to a point) but I do think you have to work harder for it. Stuff like diet seems to become more important once youre about 25.

20s by far.

Im 32 now but my life is so mundane. It just consists of working, gym after work, then coming home and eating then sleeping. Then doing it all over the next day. And on weekends, its consisting of catching up on things around the house I was too busy to do during the week. Zero social life now.

Dude unless you're a trust fund baby you couldn't afford to party as much in a week as some celebs do in a night.

Right around the 28-31 ages were the best. I fucked around too much in my early 20s and didn't do anything useful. Now I'm trying to catch up at 33 and it's stressful knowing everyone around me is way ahead. But I enjoyed those late 20s years where I was progressing with things but didn't yet realize how behind I was.

So far, my 30s have been much better. I had a hard time finding myself as a person in my 20s. Didn't really know what I wanted to do in life, less social skills, more depression and anxiety. Around 30, I found a job I love, became much more confident as a person, have a great girlfriend, have a decent amount of money and can take some great vacations. My 20s did have some wonderful times, it wasn't all bad, and some experiences that can't be replicated the older you get, but overall, I've enjoyed my 30s much more.
