Lack of energy and interest is also depression. People get confused because the terminology is kind of flawed, but "depression" doesn't mean "feeling depressed" or "being sad". If anything it's kind of a problem because people who have clinical depression and who could benefit from some form of treatment will never seek it, because they assume they can't be depressed because they don't feel sad. Though it's also worth noting that it's the middle of January, so for anyone in the Northern Hemisphere, it's winter. Which means Seasonal Affective Disorder could also be playing a role (ie, not getting enough sun is creating depression-like symptoms).
