Cashier in retail, absolutely fucking hated it, it was excruciatingly boring.

stock clerk at a grocery store. the job itself was fine, but the pay was not good.

Target electronics, was a fun job

Factory shit. No it fucking sucked. I needed to pay my own way for college and didn't have any clue what i wanted to do, knew how to weld so jumped into to that bullshit. Wasn't bad pay for 18 but it was a real shitty environment.

Jack in the Box, then a basic auto mechanic at Kmart. Yeah, they were pretty cool jobs.

Jobless at 18. Worked at the movies at 17 until I got fired for something a coworker did.Job was ok though, and it was nice getting to see free movies. Actually I take that back, I had a work study job at my college at 18 that paid like crap, but it was very easy money.

I was a student. Who partied

At an indoor amusement park/arcade.

Pay was shit, like $6 an hour back in the mid/late 90s, but the job was awesome.

Everyone was around the same age, so it was basically 4-8 hours of just hanging out with friends.

I didn't have a job until I was 19 or 20.

Bagboy/stocker at a small grocery store. It was okay.

fast food

it was chill, i had some cute coworkers, and i got money and free fast food so it worked for me

Retail at Mervyn's

I didn't like it. I didn't care about the job much at all, and dealing with customers was annoying AF.

Deckhand on a commercial fishing trawler during the summer, worked for the USDA Forest Service the rest of the year.

The deckhand work gave me a good sense of pride for my work, but the captain was a fucking psycho so that sucked. The USDA job was just organizing OPFs all day, boring af.

Was an assistant of sorts for a welding company. Mostly checked in materials, loaded welder qualifications into the system and figured out what jobs they could be sent to. Plus random stuff. Got tired of the commute, and didn't want to move so I quit. Then I was a floor tech at a nursing home and waited tables for awhile. Turned 19 and got on as a package handler at FedEx. Moved up there a little (turned down most advancements) and stayed for fourteen years.

Did volunteer for a successful candidate on being city comptroller.

I did full commission door to door sales for AT&T u-verse when it was first releasing. Worked 10 hours a day 6 days a week.

some weeks I made 2k some weeks I made legit $0. Way too much variability for how much hours I was putting in for it.

but I was young and dumb lol.

Pushing carts in a Wal-Mart parking lot. I actually did kind of enjoy it because I didn't have to deal with customers unless they needed help loading their car, and the other guys I was working with were a lot of fun.

Then I moved inside the store and it all went to shit.

Kfc and gas station. I hated both job, but KFC was by far the worst of the two. I hate the fast food rythm

Started that year working at Hollywood Video. It was shit, but your pretty typical part time while in high school job. They screwed me out of some bonuses though, so fuck them. Happy they went out of business even way before Blockbuster did.

Then I worked for a healthcare company, repackaging medicine. It was a decent company, and I ended up staying there for almost a decade and got promoted into new roles a few times.

I worked for Coca-Cola as a merchandiser. Basically I drove to 4-5 different stores each day, and refilled the Coca-Cola products in the soda aisles and in the refrigerators. My shift was 5am to 1:30pm and it was exhausting. I quit not long before Christmas because I realized I was going to have to work on Christmas morning and I didn't want to do that >_>

Stocking shelves at CVS, it was cool. A lot of us would meet up outside of work and drink at someone's house. I worked there until I was 22.

Janitor/Stocker at a grocery store. The pay sucked but my coworkers and boss were cool.

I went back to college in my late 20s... please follow my footsteps I got out of hell late, but I finally get paid well.

Sears, most of the people I worked with made the job fun. The actual job I was hired for was a cashier but it was more like them forcing us to scam people with credit card applications. Moved departments and a couple of months later we were forced to scam people into credit card applications.

Started working at 17 1/2 at Jamba Juice. I got some stories due to the whole roster of characters I had for managers. It was half a job and half playing survivor. I did manage to outwit, outplay and outlast till I quit.

I got my associates and am trying to get a QuickBooks certificate so I can get the fuck up out of retail while I finish my bachelor's

Walmart, and it was ok for a part time job in high school/college.

Job itself was a bit shitty though, but I flew under the radar for the first year I was there so that was nice.

Retail and no. My first job when I was 14 was awesome. I got to ride golf carts around all day

Amazon warehouse and then a clothing store. Hated both of them to the point that they were the foundation of my anti-work credo.

Breadeaux pizza in Iowa, it was fun but I was doing a lot of drugs

Was in the Army when I was 18. I was doing my Advanced Training for the Chemical Corps on my 18th birthday. It was ok at the time, I was happy basic training was done.

Worked at goodwill, it was alright just standard retail fare with some furniture hauling. There was definitely some interesting stuff tho like an auction site i didnt know about and the copious amount of glass/porcelain stuff that gets tossed in the trash.

College student by day, ticket taker/concession worker at a movie theatre nights and weekends. It was pretty chill for a few years. I started at 16. Eventually got a gig at a bookstore on campus - surrounded by college girls!

I was working night shift at home depot. I really enjoyed it, fucked it all up by taking a promotion to manager.

was a tutor, really enjoyed the job but did not get along with my boss and the pay was crap so i moved on
