They are trying to gaslight us into thinking they dont already charge a fee for password sharing

their standard plan is $16 and includes HD and up to 2 screens simultaneously

their premium plan is $20 and includes 4k and up to 4 screens similtaneously

theyre already the most expensive streamer either way and every other streaming service offers 4K on their standard plan

They've been constantly raising the price while losing content, and the Netflix Originals have done little but piss off various parts of the userbase at various times.
The fuck they thought was going to happen?

My brother and his wife were quietly using my password, and that time Netflix hinted at hosing sharing while at the same time raising the price again, I told my brother I was cancelling. The response I got back was "we don't watch it much anyway."

They're gonna walk it back. The basic plan allows at least 2 simultaneous screens. Trying to geolimit that, especially when not watching simultaneously, is some slimball shit.

I'm speculating this is just a way to get more ads involved and increase the price on the ad-free stuff.

If you have an account with 2 screen, it doesn't let you watch a 3rd. So that's not an issue.

They just want to end all sharing outside your home.

Add an Extra Home
When you sign in to Netflix on a TV outside of your home, you will see the option to add the extra home for an additional fee per month.

If you will only be using this TV for a limited time, you can watch Netflix for up to 2 weeks at no extra charge as long your account has not been previously used in that location. After that time, the TV will be blocked unless you add the extra home.

How Netflix Detects Homes
We use information such as IP addresses, device IDs, and account activity.

If you are using a device within your included home and still see a message that says that too many homes are using your account, you can:

Make sure that the device is connected to the same internet connection as the other devices in the home.

Make sure that the device is not connected to a VPN, proxy, or any unblocker service

Exactly. They keep getting rid of the good stuff such as Stargate SG1 and previously all of the Star Trek shows and next month theyre getting rid of Z Nation. and I just started on season 2 of Z Nation awhile ago last month

now, i go to Hulu to rewatch Switched at Birth and Lost and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

that and Tubi for old and newer movies.
