I4NRulez 12/20/22 1:02:57 PM #12:	Anime has shit dialogue. From the stupid shocked gasps they do to the weird as fuck way that they talk. They dont talk like normal people and its easy to snap you out of a show. I remember when the cyberpunk anime came out and my friends told me to watch it and i clipped a scene in the first episode that had such bad VA and dialogue. Then i was told to watch it subbed and it was the same. Anime fans get annoying because if i compare anime to other media like shows or movies i get told "Well you just dont get anime" but if you call anime a kids cartoon you get challenged about that as well. I just started listing a lot of modern anime on the same level c-list movies. Which is a shame because there's a lot of really great anime that ive seen but all the recent stuff falls into that weird cliche garbage. --- The night brims with defiled scum,and is permeated by their rotten stench. Biggest example is the sex scene in the Last of Us 2. Calling Japanese developers "Out of touch" or "too anime" is a good indicator that the person is bias. Look at the amount of utter shit the west churns out in terms of Fifa, Ubisoft-like games and CoD. The Japanese industry has amazing titles and gems like Persona 5 and Elden Ring, but apparently even those "UX" devs had a problem with the latter. Tldr; Both sides have gems and shit they churn out. Like it all you want. Again, I like it. But to act like 90%+ of the time they talk like people is just lolworthy, and that's immersion-breaking for most since you kind of "get" it in the first place to enjoy it. People. Don't. Talk. Like. That. And no, they don't talk like that in Japan either, for anyone trying to say so as some "cultural awareness" crutch. It's got a niche audience overall aside from a few standouts who were in the right place at the right itme, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's funny because that's its reputation in Japan, and partly why anime otaku have such a social stigma: "it's for kids." The typically most commonly accepted anime/animation/whatever there tends to just be some anime series, Ghibli and ESPECIALLY Disney. I legit had no idea Disney was so popular there until I stayed for a while. But you can make almost instant friends and have instant conversations if you talk about Disney with damn near everyone. At least, that was my experience there. Contrary to popular belief, anime stuff really isn't that big in Japan overall. Every variety show that introduces a famous person, they ask "whats your favourite manga?". Even people I know who don't give a shit about Videogames or anime have a favourite Manga. Walking in Shibuya and watching the Salarymen going from place to place, seeing some sort of anime inspired accessory on their phone even surprised me. Hell, Nakano Broadway were filled with adults indulging in that stuff. I went to a Sega arcade and saw women who were in their 40s hanging out there. Tons of Japanese devs can make stuff that appeals to a western audience and has minor anime tropes. Hell, even anime can lean more heavily into anime tropes than others with some anime being far more digestible for a mature audience than others.
