That was a decent ending for the material they had to work with. Way too much of season 5 and 6 were about anyone except Saul.

It's too bad Vince Gilligan didn't get your input so we could have gotten the ending we deserved.

Not sure if this is meant to come off as really passive aggressive. I'm allowed to have my opinion about the show... my opinion is they spent too much time on the cartels, Gus Fring and Mike.

I liked how they brought back Oakley but I feel bad for how he gets kinda screwed.

TC doesn't understand this and is probably one of those guys that think Breaking Bad should have ended with Walt hoodwinked everyone once more and driving off into the sunset winking at the camera.

interesting. I only saw Seasons 1-4. I intend to finish some time but this leaves me pessimistic. I LOVED the stuff with Saul and Chuck especially peaking with that incredible trial episode but the cartel scenes I found very boring and like Breaking Bad-Lite but without any of the things that made Breaking Bad interesting (Even though I like mike, in general). S4 really bored me after a great S3 so I didn't watch 5-6 yet.

Saul had almost no impact on Gus and Mike though?

You know what was surprisingly bad? The confrontation between Lalo and Gus. You could've brought that sequence out from any random action movie.

Gus goes to the laundry on a hunch without telling Mike. Lalo easily shoots all 5 of his goons and holds him at gunpoint. Then, without any wrinkle, twist or caveat, Gus shuffles over to the Chekov Gun power cord and tricks Lalo so he can shoot him.

It's not like we even feel danger for Gus in this encounter since we know what happens for him. I just don't get what they were going for. That episode also really made clear how Gus is too old in this show. And doughy...

it showed the blowback of Jimmy's actions, though, and how someone like Howard was killed as a consequence.

it's been a while since I've seen everything, but his overall connection to everything, even if minor, led to so much tragedy.

I think they could've accomplished that on a much better time table frankly.

I disagree.

like, yea, we knew Gus was going to make it due to BCS being a prequel, but I think it was to also show that, he's kinda like a spider, in that if you're in "his area", he has the absolute advantage.

I do agree he looks really old here, though.

There's just so many hours of footage of Gus and Mike standing around in the latter seasons and it's not really to the service of characterization. I would've rather seen, well, Saul and Kim during those times.

Some of it was for Ignacio, who I really liked, but he kinda ended up going nowhere as well to be honest.

maybe our impressions are somewhat different because the wait between episodes could have had an influence over how I felt about the show's events, and not so much for you, since you marathoned through it.

He's just got bad taste. A lot of people on this board do.

Judging by how he keeps bumping his own topic and talking to himself he probably just watched it because he's lonely and wanted to get in on the discussion.

You're kinda immature for someone i imagine to be in their 40s.

The only complaint I had was how little impact Saul actually had in impacting Lalo. He was the big bad, yet the main protagonist felt like a side-character.
