tbh, if any of that is true, and the final product is close to Henry's vision for the show, then maybe it's not so bad that we're getting a new lead, because the series has sucked ass from the beginning.

it was novel that we actually got a Witcher series, but it was never any good, IMO.

I don't think Thor's brother will be a better fit, though, and I dunno of any shows like this that start off bad but end up being good, so maybe it's just time to cancel it.

But this rumour/claim is so threadbare and vague it makes astrology look well researched and reasonable.

If it's true, then that is very disappointing, but it seems beyond a dozen stretches to take this as anything resembling truth without something more substantial.

cavill was responsible for the better parts of the show. he got the butcher of blaviken fight scene redone, changed roach's death from comedic to actually fucking human, and was constantly saying that they were straying way too far from the books. him and jaskier were the only reasons to watch, and now jaskier's the only one left so i quit. not even worth a yarr matey

• I never like to give these sorts of posts the time of day. It's worse than hearsay. Literally anyone can make up shit on the internet, type it out and screenshot it. I could go on reddit right now and talk about my experience as a grip for the witcher or whatever, no one would ever fact check it.
• the post itself already says it's not even first hand information, but at best 2nd hand information. So at this point we're looking at a screenshot of a post of a story told by someone else passing on a message. Dubious.
• The thing I hate most about it though is the language being used. It's like it wants to frame this entire thing in the context of a #metoo call to action. The whole tone is "just so you know he wasn't like, abusive. He didn't assault anyone as far as I'm aware, but he was definitely misogynistic. So I heard." Like why even mention it then? Why not just say the guy was demanding and neurotic, why put it in the context of sexual assault?

Honestly, fuck all of this.

I think there could well be a nugget of truth somewhere in this, but it's really impossible to say conclusively.

I think it's very likely that he was difficult to work with, for example. Like, the version I have in my head of how this probably played out was that Cavill didn't like the direction the show was headed towards, and felt that he was a big enough asset to make demands. So the frustration in the story about how he was being disrespectful? I definitely could see how that comes from a real place. But then saying that it's all sexism and him being a gamer? Sounds like a game of telephone. It might all be 100% accurate of course. But I'll believe it when there's something stronger than anecdotes that are hearsay from someone who would have obviously been very frustrated.

I saw Henry Cavil at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didnt want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, Oh, like youre doing now?
I was taken aback, and all I could say was Huh? but he kept cutting me off and going huh? huh? huh? and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Controllers in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like Sir, you need to pay for those first. At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the controllers and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually to prevent any electrical infetterence, and then turned around and tossed a coin to me. I dont even think thats a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
