This seems mostly sound, but conflating "ballot harvesting" paranoia with rant about bureaucratic bloat just makes it way more "talk radio" than it should have been.

On a slight tangent, I don't understand the criticism of 'ballot harvesting"? Maybe my definition is incorrect - it's people voting because groups or people encouraged them to/provided transportation/etc, right?

The criticism is because of one thing. The higher the vote turnout the worse it is for the GOP. That's why they've gone all in on voter suppression as a strategy. Specifically vote harvesting is bad for them because helping people to vote usually involves helping to enfranchise people that they've specifically worked to disenfranchise and thus are extremely unlikely to vote for the GOP.

The GOP really is spreedrunning their extinction.

To be fair, its hard for voting to represent the will of the people when theres basically only 2 major candidates per election thats viable, and what more those 2 leading candidates arent even there because they were picked by the people but because the party establishment pushed them to be there. With choices like this for voting its no wonder our government sucks off corporations and the ultra wealthy instead of addressing the needs of their base.

So vote harvesting=ballot harvesting, and both mean "getting more people to vote"?
