All it took was a flashlight and me examining it in the mirror to find it today.

Spent most of the year telling my dentist I was having pain in that area. Even told her where exactly it was bothering me.

She kept telling me the filling was too high. Fast forward, now I need a root canal and a crown.

The infection has already spread to my jaw and neck and my appointment (because of insurance) is in Feb. I don't know what I'm going to do.

If the infection is spreading, that appointment needs to happen immediately. See what your dentist can do to work with the insurance company, like deferring the bill until February if that's the soonest they're willing to pay for it. Given that an oversight like that could be ample grounds for a lawsuit if you suffer any sort of serious harm from it, I imagine they'll work with you.
