There are a ton of great games released only a few years ago that have been massively reduced in price

all the bugs found on release along with high prices just make me wait ~6 months before playing anything. buy the finished product, and for less money.

idk why this shit is 70$ now. like why? its the same amt of ours content as 10-15 years ago too

$60 was already a hard enough sale. But $70?

Current gen games aren't better nor do they cost more time or money to develop either, so wtf. If they want $10 or more from us then earn it.

I used to work at a game store.

For a few months I had a regular come in every few weeks with a list of games that seemed totally unrelated to each other and bought what he wanted and left. Finally I asked him what these lists were.

Turned out he just always stays two years behind in releases, so his list is the "new releases" those weeks from two years ago. It was way cheaper and he still played everything he wanted to play.

I only buy games when I can get them for $20 or less during a sale. Only exception is when it's the ultimate/goty edition with all dlc included. Then I'll pay $30-35 for them. I have too many games to buy something so soon after release.

Depends entirely on how far back you go and whether you want the physical games or not.

I have a kid who wants all retro stuff for Christmas. Gamecube, SNES, and Wii games are like $100 a pop now.

but there are some games I've been wanting to buy, but some of the older ones don't go on sale as often. maybe they think people aren't a interested in them, and they just forget to add them to sales/discounts

Just wait a while...I recently picked up Far Cry 5 for $5 and loving that so I like to wait a year or too and they are next to nothing in price.

Bugs and glitches are now considered features in games.

Retro gaming prices(especially Nintendo) have exploded in the last few years. It's so bad that most in the community suggest that only collectors go after the actual physical games. Cheapest way is to get the console and something that is modable on this site to discuss.

Waiting has always been a good idea, but slowly, these fuckers are starting to copy Nintendo's shitty strategy of never lowering their prices. I noticed lots of games have not been receiving the heavy discounts others get anymore.

Eh I'd rather pay $10 more than play anything old. Then again I only play the Switch. I think BotW still sells for $60

Even collectors are being priced out of the market. The bullshit thing about used market is it's not dictated by supply and demand. It's a bubble that's being manipulated by people that are only interested in making as much money as possible. It's to the point where when I buy a new game, I have to look at whether I want to play it now, or what its value will be in 5 to 10 years when I finally getting around to wanting to play it. If you're only interested in playing the game, there are much better ways to do it than giving three to four times MSRP to get a physical copy.

I just wait for the game to be finished (or at least slightly less buggy) and half price. Unless it's Nintendo, of course.
