HEAVEN'S NIGHT Kolin's Theme match 1 is way too close to call, both tracks are way too cool. rip lyle mays one of the best possible silent hill 2 picks; i really love things that are in this trip hop-ish dub-ish style with strangely timed echoes. it reminds me of "Feliz Navidub" from "The Reindeer Room: A Christmas Chillout" which is one of my favorite tracks to listen to around the Christmas season: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuCv_Abwv1Y ... Space Junk Galaxy HEAVEN'S NIGHT Kolin's Theme unfortunate draw for... well, either of these honestly. space junk really is a brutal one for so many of these to face though even more unfortunate draw for aka. doesn't even get all caps titles... (this one also is way too close though) fitegames (this one is also tough. i need to be in the right mood for a ballad like wings of yearning unfortunately. kolin's theme is cool but i felt it overstayed its welcome) ... Dancing Snakes is definitely better than See the Shrews or Para Bellum. Still kinda weird melodically, but it's not a big deal. Space Junk Galaxy is just beautiful and I love piano so it gets my vote. The space synths add a lot to the atmosphere of the track as well. HEAVEN'S NIGHT has some pretty nice ambience. Very chill track. Scarlet II is also very chill. I think I like the synths here more and the more melodic nature of it will win my vote this time. Two good songs though. I like the vocals in Kolin's Theme. The guitar and piano throughout are pretty nice as well. Wings of Yearning is also good. I like the acoustic guitar sections the most. Pretty close match again, but I think I'll go with Wings of Yearning because I feel it has better development of its themes. Good day today. Space Junk Galaxy Scarlet II Wings of Yearning I've always been a fan of chill "spacey" vibes, and thankfully Space Junk is playing into that for this round. Heaven's Night is digging up memories of early 2000's music I heard from random sources as a kid. If you told me someone took that song and put it into a Flash game they were making, I'd believe you without hesitation. space junk galaxy heaven's night wings of yearning i honestly don't know what to expect from heartland. it is still surprising the shit out of me. the only real criticisms i have from this game's music so far is the midi instruments, which in their own way is still reasonably charming. the title also comes across as an appropriate one, waving through different melodies like the winding coil of serpents. space junk galaxy is not only one of my favourite smg songs, but i consider it to be perhaps the second most quintessential - after buoy base. yeah, you heard me, buoy base the song screams galaxy to me, with a beautiful spacey soundscape and lonely piano. it's minimal, but not boring, sparse, but not empty. i regrettably cannot vote for heartland in this case. the atmosphere of silent hill's art and music direction is very appealing to me. both in context and out. dreary, yet sinister, dreamy, but lonely. i'm not entirely sure if it would have as strong an impact if i wasn't so touched by (the first four games of) this wonderful series. i'm not the biggest fan of scarlet ii's main instrument and it isn't until the backing instruments are added that i really feel the mood. pleasant, but doesn't grab me like heaven's night. i am a certified fighting game music noob, but i gasped when i saw what songs were drawn because i really like both of them! kolin feels very calm before the storm for me. a zen state before a battle unfolds. those vocals in particular are really cool! and i do like how the guitar spices things up too. yearning's acoustic intro is quite honestly enough for it to get a slight edge, the mix with the e guitar really quite stunning. such a great battle! ...
