I think that's a fair assessment at this point. It's too bad the shine is off him at this point, he's not relaly gonna get another fair chance with a coach that is actually good and wants him at this point.

Who knows, Baker could become the next Geno 5 years from now

Arm Strength: If he actually has his body recover from playing injured with the Browns, that should fix itself.
Accuracy: See Arm Strength
Maturity: Based on atmospheric comments regarding Baker on the Panthers, it seems he has matured. He's been a good teammate and caused no problems.

He's always acted like he's some super elite badass QB that can carry when he's just an average QB that needs a good team around him.

Where was the flexing for these recent games

There have been many good immature QBs and the easiest "trait" to fix is maturity anyway, so who cares.

The 5 win Lions are favorites against the 10 win Vikings.

No one believes in Minnesota at all.

Minnesota keeps playing teams close. In a way it works for them due to them being challenged and winning those close games. Mental toughness and all. On the flip side, it's difficult to get people behind you when they realize it takes just one bad play/decision/call to turn a hard-fought win into a loss.

The question becomes: Are you a good team or a lucky team? They could be both, but a lucky team is one game away from a complete collapse.

I hope baker will get another shot somewhere, I think his browns days are closer to who he actually is. He did himself no favors but carolina turned out to be a crappy place for him to land and wilks clearly wasn't interested in playing him.

I think Baker can work in the right system, but he needs talent around him. He can't carry a bad team.

I've always thought Baker is just a bad QB. Game manager is the ceiling for him. I didn't want to crap on Emerald's Panthers hopes or anything early in the season, but Baker just sucks tbh.

He had a great running game and a good defense in Cleveland, and he was just mediocre there. So, I kind of agree with Leon in that if you surround him with a bunch of talent, he's going to be capable of maybe getting you to the playoffs with a favorable schedule, but that's the best you can hope for out of him.

Baker had two good seasons with Cleveland, so I don't think he's an outright bad QB. He has obvious flaws, but I think a good coach can work around them. Shanahan is the type of coach who could figure out how to use him.

In his relative best years in Cleveland, he was essentially the average NFL QB in most statistics.

That's what he is. An NFL average QB.

And you can win with an average NFL QB in the right situation, so I think he'll get another chance eventually.

Or he'll just become a journeyman backup like Teddy Bridgewater.

The point I hold with maturity is you can't win with an average quarterback who thinks he's better than he is. A strong team can win with him if he's not actively trying to be the star he doesn't have the talent to be.

So long as he's learned that lesson there's still a place for him.

On a sidebar.. You know MNF is sad when it includes the Bucs, and all but three people are on them.

What a game this is going to be.

I took a quick peek out of curiosity. We have.. 3 people on the Saints.

I didn't expect this game to matter very much, but I expected more than that.

I had an awful week last week, but this week should have stabilized it some, and I want the Saints to win just for the chaos.

The problem with what Wilson did was he took a locker room he was already losing and basically incinerated the bridge between himself and them. There's no one on the team who wants him back.

Baker friggin headbutted his teammates cheering for them. I don't wanna hear jack about him being a bad teammate or some sort of problem in carolina. If nothing else he was nothing but professional and supportive.

Go Saints so the Panthers can win the division

Ok looking at it further: Bucs are losing their next two, if not next three games. All out of the division against better teams. Could easily be 5-10 with a loss here. Panthers could conceivably win one of their next 3, and be 5-10. These two teams then play in week 17, with the winner being 6-10 and the loser being 5-11.

Saints and Falcons play next week, but are probably both losing two. Loser might end up 5-11 and the winner 6-10 going into week 18.

It is very possible this division is

6-10
6-10
5-11
5-11

Going into week 18. Or close to that anyway.

So long as the Saints win here.

He was the only person in the entire top 29 to be on the Saints.

Leon is basically having the week I had last week. He's just so far ahead of everyone it doesn't really matter.
