It takes a lot of desk space and Id like to free up some space. I feel like it gets a lot of ventilation on the desk instead of under.

I probs wouldnt put it on the carpet but on a wooden board or something

a wooden board is a good idea. That's what I do with mine since there's carpet underneath. You will definitely have to dust it more often as well. If your case has built in dust filters for the fans then that helps a bunch too.

Ive had my pc ontop of a piece of wood that is on top of carpet for the past 4 years. No problems so far. If it does break i just get a new pc

My bros had their pcs directly ontop of thick carpet for a few months. I just told them to get a piece of wood for it to sit on cuz that what i do and also because the psu fans need to breath too (they didn't know the psu has a fan lol)

You should do it at least twice a year.
I went a long time without cleaning mine which is what eventually led to its failure.

I recommend using something like this instead of buying canned air. Can't believe it took me until a month ago to find something like this.This thing is clutch.
