She put a lot of extras on it during the transition. These aren't the type of people who go for positions where they have influence over millions. There is nothing cool or calm about having all that responsibility. You don't see a lot of hippie's being like "Yo, one day ...Im gonna be like the President or something. That would be so chill".

What's so bad that you can't even engage in conversation tho? Im not with that "oh, you're sensitive cause you can't just talk", since it completely writes off that people can just be too annoyed to want to deal with something so counterproductive to their own ideals. But I feel like if you just look at it from a different angle, all conversation is fun to engage in if both parties aren't getting sensitive or angry.
