Say I order $150 worth of groceries from the Walmart Neighborhood Market that's about a mile away from my house.

I usually tip like $4-5, is that fair?

If you live that close, you should just schedule a pickup. Its free if you order something like $30 or more.

I guess I never really thought about their wages. Do they get paid per delivery, or an hourly flat rate etc

Pretty sure the Walmart delivery stuff is outsourced to doordash or a similar service. So it'd be per delivery

I tip the same whether it is Walmart or Whole Foods.

I tip $7 at least because it is Chicago. If you live in Peoria $5 is probably OK if your house is right on the highway. You should pay more if delivery driver has to take back roads - - enough to cover the gas and wear on the axle.

I tip more for heavy stuff like bottled water or crushable stuff like eggs, cookies or chips. I pay more if I was not home because some drivers will not leave the stuff. (I will add to the tip)

At the very least give the driver 5 stars if you cannot tip more than $5

Yeah it's outsourced to Doordash (at least it is here, idk if it's the same everywhere). There's a tip option when submitting the order which you can leave blank

I just logged into my Walmart+ and now they're offering a tipless delivery option for an extra $7 a month where it's an actual Walmart employee who delivers it to you

I usually order once a week so that's about $20-25 in tips vs just $7

You son of a bitch, Walmart. I'm in. I already save a bunch of money by avoiding impulse buys
