It's absolutely up there at least.

It's weird, but I like how the game makes all (except one) of the items available at the start.

The fact that you can upgrade all of them once purchased is cool, too.

For me that's precisely what I didn't like about this game. For me, gradually unlocking your new capabilities from dungeon items is an integral part of the Zelda experience, and having to just buy the vast majority of them with rupees instead feels kind of lame in comparison.

Upgrade system was cool though, I'll give it that one.

I loved it, like a lot.

Best? Nah, it was to safe, stale and boring. I can't believe they botched a pseudo LttP remake like that.

The game is so snappy, and movement and combat just feel good which is my favorite part. It arguably might not match other Zeldas in areas like exploration or world design, but not of them are as satisfying to play moment-to-moment as this one imo.

Plays too much like a partial reboot IMO. It's fun but why not just play LttP which at least has that "classic" factor

It was almost brilliant. Zelda as a whole is slowly stumbling towards that, in that all the parts are there, but Miyamoto and/or Aonuma haven't thought to use them all at once.

Take BOTW's open world philosophy, with ALBW's open-item philosphy, and combine it with SS's two-part dungeons.
You get a bunch of goodies upfront, and can go to any dungeon you want, then get some other thing that lets you do the second-half of some other dungeon - now you'll have the perfect Zelda game.

I loved it. Especially considering that it was very likely testing the waters for BotW's item / ability structure.

I recently replayed it for a third time (well, still need to finish the final dungeon, I put it down a couple weeks ago and haven't picked it back up), and as much as I hate to admit it, I may have to finally reevaluate whether or not LttP still holds the crown as my favorite Zelda. BotW was so damn close to taking the crown, but it tripped hard at the finish line with a weak final boss and ending. Wind Waker still deserves its props for exploration, art design, and the best characters in the series, but the dungeons suuuuuuuck.

WW had at least 5 dungeons I can think of.

I liked how you could do dungeons in any order and rent weapons needed. Really nice system.

I did the palace first.

It did indeed. And they were really, really boring and forgettable. Tower of the Gods was the only one that was halfway-enjoyable.
