Assuming both have the same total meat content.

Personally I don't like thick patties. I vasty prefer double meat so you get twice the char surface area on the meat.

Giant burgers are too much of a pain to eat. Thin patties/burgers all the way for me.

I could never get behind sliders. The idea seems interesting but the buns always seem weird to me whenever I had one. I guess due to cooking dough that small or something makes the crust and inner bread ratio off to me or something.

If it is actual hamburger, I prefer double meat.

If it is something like a Sirloin burger, I prefer a thicker patty done medium.

This is pretty much an argument for the opposite for me.

Char is carcinogenic. I generally tend to avoid it as much as I can. And because I prefer burgers as medium rather than overdone hockey pucks, you generally don't get a ton of char anyway (doubly so if you're cooking in a rotisserie, which is how I make them at home). So I've never seen char as being something that adds taste in a positive way or anything.

Neither, really.

But between the two, two nicely-cooked patties rather than an unpredictable thick one.

Double thin patties. Burgers (and really just any meats in general) are easier for me to eat sliced into several thin layers vs. one thick one.

Plus, the extra surface of a double burger allows for an extra layer of cheese/veggies, offering a better distribution of flavor and texture.

Niether given I am vegan unless its a tofu or soy based patty will never ever(Lmfao that particular scene on Friday when Chris Tucker said "don't ever ever ever ever ever ever come back here again" to the female who said she looked like Janet Jackson on the phone prior actually coming to meet him in person would definitely go here) consume it

One, well seasoned, 1/3 pound patty. Cooked just enough so that when you bite into it you can swim in the juice that spills out into your mouth. With a perfect crust (not char) that gives it a beefy flavor that requires nothing more than a little bit of hot sauce and black pepper. All sitting on a fresh kaiser roll slightly toasted in the left over grease from that perfect burger.

Unless it's really overcooked the char isn't going to be harmful.

Grilling: 2 thin patties. Much easier to get the correct consistency all the way through.

Probably neither But if I had to choose, probably 2 patties Not usually a fan of the thick patties Plus, easier to remove if I want to split the meat for whatever reason

Plus, I think the thin patties would cook better
