I mean all it is is a small convection oven foe a counter top. My problem is the word small. I mostly want on with enough space for a few filets of fish and stuff like that. Anyone have any experience with a counter top convection oven?

There was an air fryer thread a couple months ago so there should be some people on here that can contribute.

I mostly use mine for making crispy tofu or cooking frozen chicken strips and potato wedges. As much as it's a pretty niche appliance, it's quite a bit faster, more efficient, and does a better job than using the oven for the same jobs, so I'm a fan (pun not intended), and I have also had some luck experimenting with air fryer variants of what would normally be deep fryer recipes (like pakoras). I've got a Ninja AF101C, which is a good size for two people, but you may want something larger if you want to cook for more or cook multiple servings at a time.

Definitely get yourself an oil spray bottle to go with it, though, if you don't buy one that comes with one (I don't know if any do). For some things, you can get away with just tossing them in oil, but for others you'll have to spray it on to get the coverage you need.

Have you considered a Premium microwave, such as the Panasonic NNCD87KS

Get the family sized one for sure, but yeah they are great for a few things.

Excellent for fries, for reheating fried chicken or pizza, good for things like taquitos, making bacon fast, making BBQ pork (charsoi or however you spell it) or reheating it from the store etc.

It's better than a convection oven (which I also have upstairs) for quite a few things, and super conveinent. I used to make my own fried chicken in it, but found that buying already fried chicken and reheating it is WAY less work and mess, and tastes just as good.

Most frozen foods like Fish/Corn dogs etc are excellent to make quickly in an air fryer. Learn to use aluminum foil on the base for most foods (even though it blocks the air flow) to avoid almost any clean up at all. Works great for pizza for instance, no clean up needed at all that way.

Put pepperoni on a layer of aluminum foilfor instance to have the same crispy taste/flavor.

Anyway tons of ways to use it, and they rock.

I wonder if there's a model that would fit a whole fish. I like crispy fish

I swear by mine

Threw in some left over fries the other day and they came out as they did when they left the store

I would recommend sealing meats quickly (2 minutes each side in a pan) before placing them in, everything else can just be thrown in

I think if you have the right one you can bake cakes and desserts

Honestly the thing thats holding me back is I want big things in it and I think it won't be cost effective to get one for the stuff I wanna cook in it.

I know I want a few catfish filets at a time, a whole red fish or similar sized fish. All the ones I have seen so far are more deep than wide.

I think I may get the 6 quart Instant Vortex. Anyone have that one? I see a few reviews where the handle broke off. Other than that it looks good.
