999 will likely win here, and it's a good game. Have you played any Zero Escape games? Days of Ruin isn't as good as Dual Strike imo but it's still a solid Advance Wars gameplay experience. Shantae isn't the best game here but it's a fast beat. I can sympathize about wanting Cubivore but not wanting to pay Cubivore prices. I've been in that boat since around when it was released. I do own the DS version, but then the PS4 version came out and it seems to be the preferred version with a lot of QoL improvements. It both is and isn't. I played the Steam version, and while there are QoL improvements over the original, I later learned about a very significant component of the game I was missing out on.
