Almost guaranteed that said CEO is a shareholder in multiple companies, probably a member of multiple boards, has a multitude of investments but then has the gall to get upset when employees properly utilize their time lmao

Maybe if they were well paid they wouldnt need to have 2 jobs.

To be fair, it does put into question if they are really working "8 hours" per job (they are not) and technically they are being paid for 8 hrs per day so the company can fairly complain.

Meh. Companies under capitalism steal labor from every employee, as paying someone the full value of what their labor produced isn't compatible with capitalism. Unfair problems require unfair solutions.

I can see firing somebody who's working at two companies if they are in a position of security, like an engineer. You would have trade secrets, and that kind of goes against NDA, if one is signed. Are they attempting to work both jobs at the same time in a work from home scenario? That and an NDA non-compete clause may be the only reasons why somebody would be turfed for working two jobs. Firing somebody for working two jobs because they are stealing a job from another person who may need it? . No employer is that altruistic. You want to monopolise your employee's time and your employee's time alone. You don't want to share them with other people.

So, fuck that CEO.

Companies needs to make it clear, written and signed for employees to not work two jobs at the same time then. It's really that simple. Hell, even my current job almost don't let us have a 2nd evening part time job.

I hate to say this but I actually agree with the part about potentially taking someone else's job.

lots of CEO stuff to get mad about, someone getting caught trying to scam the system by simultaneously working two jobs at once (and not actually doing either job) isnt something Im going to get too upset over

They are engineers, so there is probably some conflict of interest going on here, possibly some NDAs being broken, assuming none of that their performance at work is clearly suffering if they are not showing up to meetings or getting their shit done on time.

Prett big fair, next.

It doesn't sound like these guys were clocking out and working the night shift at Wendys for some extra cash, they are clearly working for another company WHILE ON THE CLOCK for the other one.

So yeah, you're getting fired.

CE... how the fuck is this so hard for you to understand? They were working the same 9 to 5 for two different companies AT THE SAME TIME. This isn't some situation where they were punching off the clock and working a second job to help pay the bills. These are engineers making 130-140k that were trying to double their income by "working" for another company during the same hours they were suppose to work for the other.

It what fucking world do you expect that to be allowed?

A lot of people just hate ceos because many of them are highly exploitative towards their workers.

However, this is certainly not a case of that. What people are ignoring is that the team members these guys worked with had to pick up the slack for these guys working multiple wfh jobs at the same time and not contributing to their best to either.

No one cares if you work a 2nd job when you aren't working the first one.

There's gonna be conflict of interest involved when it's two different companies at the same time in the same field, especially if it's competing companies.. I get that from a corporate perspective.

Also having to deal with coworkers who just aren't committed to the job and you end up picking their slack too which is also unfair.

I feel conflicted about this overall. As long as people get their work done, I don't care. I do know people who are moonlighting another job. Literally at the same time.

This. I think CEO's are scummy too. But firing these two makes perfect sense. Working two jobs at the same time means they were probably not pulling their weight. So the company started looking into why and they got found out.
