Lol It being a gay romcom didn't help tbh, but there's a multitude of reasons why it is failing as well. Fwiw it looks like a decent movie and it's getting good reviews. It's a very tired, exhausted genre, and raunchy romcoms in particular have been dead for a while because of how heavily franchise films took over Spring/Summer releases. Midbudget films like this are innately a huge risk for studios and it having an R rating automatically puts it at a disadvantage as a theater release. It is a movie just for a gay,upper class, white guys. In the trailer, he makes fun of that fact that straight people would not want to see it.
