Spoilers for the episode:

• The villagers leave a fortified fortress to hole up in a flammable tavern made of straw
• They somehow make it passed the incoming army of orcs on the one road to and from the fortress, and somehow no one noticed
• How can the Numenorean's make a voyage that's supposed to take at least a week (considering the distance and the terrain) in two nights?
• The fight choreography
• This is a billion dollar show, why is the armour made out of paper fucking Mache, and looks like it too?
• Why did the elf hide the sword in the tavern? Why and how did he not see/hear the dumbass kid spying on him? There's a forest all around you. Dig a hole and obscure spot somewhere
• How did discount Aragorn get ahead of Galadriel and the Uruk who had a headstart and were travelling as fast the horses could go?
• Oh my God, the dialogue is atrocious
• Why did the elf not check the package that Galadriel brought back from the evil Uruk? Considering how important that sword was, he could have easily figured out "Oh shit, they still have it, better get back to the tower and guard the key hole thingy". Contrived garbage
• Did I mention the dialogue?
• Last, but definitely not least, how in the name of all hell that is holy does water falling into magma, in a wide open chamber, cause a fucking NUCLEAR EXPLOSION. God fucking dammit, there is no physics real or Tolkienian that would cause that. The water would solidify the magma, likely delaying any potential eruption, not causing the biggest one ever. It wasn't even that much water.
• Oh, and the dialogue is atrocious.

More or less the case here. Show's not perfect by any means and certainly not above criticism, but Ch0nk's post up there is a good example of what you just described lol

I bitch about it because I want to, and when someone asks why it's bad I give my answer. Any monkey with half a brain would have made better decisions than these characters in the show. And yet, that was only part of the criticism I listed. Most of it was around the writing, which again any monkey with half a brain could have written better.

This. Haven't watched it, though. All of the "valid" complaints don't seem very compelling, so it's obvious that the issue is something else - probably the elephant in the room that's been in there since episode 1.

I don't like how that lady survived that arrow injury because she's one of the key characters but otherwise instant kill any background extra

Ive seen people compare the papier-mache armor to the barrel scene in the first Hobbit movie, but at least the barrel scene was meant to be funny in how overly long the joke was. This looks like a serious scene except the orcs have all the threatening presence of a piata.

My family stopped watching around ep 3 or 4 though. Its that fucking boring.

And yes, Im also a minority, so fuck off before you go off on that.

Also going off of the dialogue stuff, maybe it speaks to the fact that I'm not a fan of Tolkien's writing style to begin with, but having read the Hobbit and LotR books, nothing in the show has felt terribly out of place in that department

Like I said, it's not the show that's causing me grief. It's the assholes who call me racist for not liking it that piss me off. Basically any show that's shit can just stick a black guy in it and automatically any criticism can be met with "you're racist". Case in point, this show and Wheel of Time. Two of my favourite book series, butchered by Bezostube, and anything bad anyone says about it is just met with "ohh racism".

Yeah but if you actually listen to what they're saying in the show, it makes absolutely no sense. Whether you like the writing style or not, at least Tolkien's flowery speak made sense when you interpret what they're saying in the books and the Jackson moview.

I called it quits after that woman got shot with the arrow then suddenly the episode turns into the black hawk down scene but instead of a bullet it's a arrow.

The way each character and scene can be so dramatically different in each scene the tone of the show is just jarring to watch. The poor story and campy acting don't help much either.

This show only resembles Tolkiens work in names if barely everything else about this show is just not worth watching unless you enjoy the fraction of time spent on the little bits of actual lord of the ring references.

Please, I genuinely want to know what in my behaviour is making people think I'm racist.

Am I overly invested in how bad this show is? Yes, it's because I love Tolkien's work. Am I "nerd raging" over it? Yes. Should I stop watching it, yes, and I probably will at some point. But again, it's not the show itself making me unhappy, it's the accusations of racism I don't appreciate.

Show is decent. Pacing sucks.

Also, for a show with the budget it has, the battle scenes are fairly weak. OG trilogy had better sword work.

I enjoy it though, for the most part.

I'm enjoying Rings of Power, but to be fair I appreciate film and art and able to keep political opinions off entertainment. That's just me though so I can't speak for anyone else.
