Fed up with gambling ads?

Children Ruin Everything, (Canadian show, shot in Toronto) and they have a betting storyline where they slipped in the OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming) slogan, know your limit, play within it.

They had some Bell ads in the background of some first season episodes, so they are not above the easy corporate synergy.

I am just fed up with all the betting ads that have been dumped on us, every sports station has become one long betting advertiser that occasionally shows sports. They even have the broadcasters running the live odds in intermissions as a segment they block out time for.

Yes, betting shouldn't be allowed for low income people. It keeps them low income, saps their credit, their buying power, and goddamn man how long are we gonna say, "He's an adult" and let people become impoverished while simultaneously saying, "End poverty!" You can't have both. It's time for change.

Also, my vote would be hell yes. I voted too fast. Also I don't think anyone but the wealthy should gamble and most of it should go to the people. I'm trying not to be authoritarian, but damnit man... I've seen this shit my whole life. It's hard trying to help people and being for helping and advancing society and nothing fucking changes. We're doing the same dumbass shit since forever.

See why I avoid politics guys. I get all riled up, forget what I'm doing. Now I'm late and my gf is texting me pissed off.

I honestly only see them when I watch wrestling, so I don't really care.

If I actually watched more sports, or it started creeping into other genres more blatantly, I might start finding it annoying.

It's on Reddit, it on the news channels, it's on buses and billboards, can't listen to sports radio at all anymore.

How does that even work, are they allowing betting on matches too?

It is bad. I hear it every day be it radio, TV, web browsing. Its like we need a new addiction to replace big tobacco.

Some ads on the radio will end with mentioning about gambling addiction and to call some 1-800-Bets-Off. Its like wtf then dont advetise this ****. Im an addicted gamblor since 2008 and i dont wish this lifestyle upon anyone

I assume every sporting event has betting. You have to go to Vegas for niche stuff like that though.

That's the beauty of running online gambling: Your overhead costs are so low that you can branch out into more niche markets without having to worry about whether or not they're large enough to support you.

Indeed. People turn to gambling in a desperate attempt to get ahead when nothing else is working. For a small handful, it works. For everyone else, it just makes things worse.

Because I can't escape the ads (when I get to the new place I am putting a pi hole in) I know they are offering in game bets and speciality bets on anything you can dream of through the app.

This is great news for the casinos that no longer have to deal with suicides in their parking lots.

Casinos are all in an uproar over it, they still have to pay higher fees and taxes than the online operators, and people don't really want to travel to crowded areas still, they thought Doug would bring them the gravy train but he sold them out for bidders with deeper pockets. I would not be surprised if the party found a reason to Patrick Brown him.
