I loved Family Guy when it first started but grew out of it over time.

It's not on the same tier as other animated shows like South Park, Futurama, KotH, The Simpsons etc.

The whole conceit of Stan and Francine's relationship is that they're both awful, shallow sociopaths who deserve each other, for better and for worse. Like...no one on American Dad is a good person. Except for maybe Jeff.

Man, I haven't seen American Dad ever since it was tossed off Fox through apparently it's been very successful over at TBS the only thing I remember is that around the start Stan was a parody of the good conservative, his wife was a parody of a stepford wife, his daughter was a rebel without a cause preachy liberal, his son was a total wastoid whose only coherent thought was about sex and the alien was a metrosexual stereotype, there was a fish too but he hardly ever mattered outside of having someone to talk to inbetween Plots A, B and sometimes C.

I wonder if it ever went the way the other two shows did where all of them despise each other and would kill each other if they thought they could get away with it like the Family Guy cast does.

Nope actually while they get in spats their synergy only grows over the years. They are a solid unit, pretty much every character has evolved well beyond their season one selves besides Klaus but his dynamic was already pretty solid. You should check out episodes starting from season 5, American Dad really found its own identity and continues to be a pretty damn funny show.

American Dad is so good. Early season Family Guy is still legit. Never got into Cleveland Show, but I also have probably not seen more than 2 or 3 episodes of it.

Well, as long as it's funny, that's fine.
My gf and I just started a watch-through of American Dad and it's great. I don't think I had seen any new eps since 2020 for some reason, but getting back into it has been fun.
