After regularly visiting this site for at least 18 years now, I feel the poll is just a really pointless thing that's just kinda there, and it's even kind of annoying, like a distraction.
I thought it was fun when I was like 13 but now I just find it dumb.

The site should probably let us set an option to auto prompt us polls if they want people to use them. I'd participate more if they did that.

If they really want people to vote in the polls, they should have it give you extra karma every time you vote.

Karma is worthless, but people are obsessed with it anyway. You'd absolutely see an uptick in people voting if there was a tangible (if useless) reward for it.

It's like how, back in the day, people actually bought GameFAQs merch solely because it gave a karma boost.

Yeah, but maybe four people tops on the entire site give even the remotest of shits about trophies.

A lot of people care about karma, though. Even if they're both equally meaningless.

Given I rarely visit the Gamefaqs's frontpage, I don't even see the poll most days. I used to vote heavily in it but, honestly, nowadays the polls are mostly recycled anyway. Just one more reminder of Gamefaqs's faded glory and overall decline, particularly under Red Ventures these last few years
