I never have and cannot come up with a scenario where I would, but I voted 'sometimes' just to avoid ruling out some strange circumstance that I can't come up with.

Yes. Aren't kitchen staff included in tips? I always assumed they were paid crappy and got a split of the tip pool too?

I did small tips during the worst of the pandemic but generally not anymore.

When applicable (usually pizza places), I round up to the next dollar. It's more than most people do so the staff are grateful.

I don't like carrying out burgers because those don't taste the same after ten minutes of taking them home. I eat those at the restaurant.

I did at Subway, but that's only because they started memorizing my order.

Depends on a lot of things for me.

Is it a really large order, like food for 5 people+? I'll probably tip a few bucks.
Is it a place where I'm going in and having the thing made to my specifications (Chipotle, Subway) if they do a good job I'll usually give a dollar or 2.

Also not quite carryout, but if it's counter service (like a Tijuana Flats) where they bring food out, get you refills and clean up the trash for you I'll usually leave a dollar or 2.

Yes, typically smaller than for dine-in but still it's a habit I picked up during the pandemic and stuck with it. I mean technically there is still a pandemic going on but whatever.

I figure most takeout places in my area are still paying minimum wage or close enough to it, and I've got the money to afford eating out so why not. I don't strongly correlate tips with quality of service in the first place.

Almost never but I did today actually. Got some pizza for carry out and decided I wanted a soda can cause it's been a long couple days and the guy wasn't gonna charge me for it. Thought that was nice of him so I added a tip.

Nope. My state doesn't have a separate, lower wage for tip workers.

Plus, a lot of the places I order from are cooked/prepped by the owners.

Tipping here is not common. It's really only something you'd do for really exceptional quality or service, and if you're feeling particularly generous. I think I've tipped maybe 3 times in my life.
