Imagine going out to eat or drink weekly and not dropping $70 on a new game youll get many more hours of enjoyment out of every so many months.

i remember my mom having to pay 75 bucks for street fighter alpha 2 on snes and ocarina of time. don't know if all games were that price, but 70 in 2022 is much cheaper than 75 in the 90s. and they take a lot more resources to make and take way longer. we're lucky, honestly.

Nobody cares but the Vans slipons made around the same increase. I checked on them, the basic ones are $70 now, up from $30.

I bought the GTAV special edition back in 2013 for $70.

I wanted the steel case.

$60 for a PS4 game (with an upgrade to PS5) and $70 for the same game but branded for PS5 (with no PS4 copy) seemed like a very obvious moment that they be scammin

Buying a $60 game, then $10+ of dlc.

Games cost 80 bucks here. It's wild. if you want season pass you have to shell out like 115 bucks. It's almost never worth it.

Yes theres is, its called business.

And like others have said I paid 70 for a lot n64 games. Which in late 90s was a lot more expensive than 70 dollars today. Also game development costs are 10 times more expensive.

Also if you dont want to pay 70, just wait a few months for deals. I have like 60 games for PS4 and just a handful I paid full price for. Gotta have your priorities in check if youre going to whine about prices.

When you consider the rate of inflation, games are actually CHEAPER than they were 30-35 years ago.

In 1988, an NES was $179.99. That would be about $450.00 today.

Brand new NES games were routinely $40-45. $45 in 1988 would be $112.70 today.

there's soooo many great and cheap games out there. it's a golden age of gaming. let the cash cows pay a premium to play on release and catch up on your backlog.

Imagine buying a physical 70 dollar game and selling it back for 50 dollars once your done.

Do not imagine procuring a free gacha 'game' and then feeding it money unabatedly.

Every game I buy is like $25 max. That includes AAA games that are a couple years old. I have a backlog of free PS Plus games thatll take me two years to get through. And a bunch of Nintendo Online SNES games I still want to play.

Also, the price of a new game, while I typically dont spend that much on a game, doesnt seem ALL that pricey when you consider that dinner for 2 at a decent restaurant is gonna be like $60 minimum.

People can bitch how others spend their money because that's how these publishers start pushing more and more on how much you'll spend on their game. Now you've got gutted $70 games with $30 DLC to complete it with microtransactions thrown in because gamers keep throwing their money away at this shit.

Think I paid close to that for Donkey Kong Country and Stunt Race FX back in the 90s.
