I'm white and I use a loofah. I use liquid body wash, though. Dunno how you can use liquid body wash with bare hands.

That looks like a dreadful thing to have in your house. Too much unused but soaking wet material to dry, and you can't exactly walk around with one on like you would a towel.

Looks like it would disintegrate if you tried to machine wash it with anything else.

on topic: I have used a soft sponge in the past, a natural sea sponge too, a loofah, and now I just rub the soap bar all over (I live alone), and I am white

Not sure I get the joke, wouldn't they be more likely to use a loofah due the stereotype of being softer? Anyway growing up I used the ones in second post since my dad used them and had a ton, but now I just apply the soap directly on my skin which is better.

Extra devices like rags and loofahs are not necessary and are overall detrimental, it's best to apply the soap directly. Also I use bodywash now, it's so much quicker than bar soap. I used to take 30 mins and it cut my bathing time by half

This is offensive and i reported it.

I prefer one of those shower poof things. Never liked the feel of using a washcloth, I'd rather just use my hands than that.

I don't think it's offensive, I just think it's f'n stupid to generalize things. Fucking hate it. ANYTIME someone says something like, "women do this," or, "kids behave this like," it makes me groan. It shows that the person saying it isn't that smart.

You can literally just say "Do you use a loofah when showering?"

Instead of "Hey people of this race: you dont do this thing!?"

I go straight soap bar to skin.

No need for middle man, I go straight to the source.

That being said, I'm the only one of the 4 people living in my house that doesn't use liquid soap and a loofah.

My assumption is it comes from any bar-soap commercial or printed ad, and how they never show anyone using a washcloth with it, as to not take the focus away from the soap itself.

Combine that with, at the time the stereotype started, a majority of the models in the ads were white people, and that's where you get the stereotype.

My maid washes me, and she uses a washcloth.
