the Aldi in my town used to be some ghetto until they reopened in a new location

now it's one of the better grocery stores in the area

the old strip where it used to be doesn't even exist anymore

Umm Aldi has been out west for quite a while

its where I used to buy my avocados in Orange County because they were cheapest there

Yeah its not bad. My only complaint is its too small so its a nightmare when its busy.

Their vegan selection is growing so theyre cool in my book.

Actually the Aldi spin-off is Aldi. They split the stores regionally.

Yeah, this. It's the same in Germany, where we have Aldi North and Aldi South. Lidl is a similar concept, but with different owners

I went to an Aldis the other day that basically had you herded in lanes.
It's an older one, but it felt odd. It's actually might be some leftover covid shit.
But the other one I went to is new and wide open. They both had cool stuff though.
It pisses me off that there isn't one actually in town. >_>

I like my Aldi, they have some unique items that are foreign goods that I can't get anywhere else.

I'm learning a bunch here. Didn't know TJ was a Aldi spin off. They're not the same tho. Also didn't know we had Aldi on the west coast lol

It's hit or miss in my experience. I live 0.1 miles from one so it's great for last second missing things for a meal like a few spices or pasta sauce or something. But for any more significant shopping, it's costco or the larger store about half a mile away.

Were getting one here next month.

Yeah, Im used to thinking of aldis as dollar generals with actual food because of the places I have normally seen them. Only went in one, in SC, because a friend kept telling me how cheap it was. Never went back.

More of an acquisition than a spinoff.

We have them here in Bakersfield. I went in once, tried several of their branded items and all of them were garbage. Not one item was good enough to finish. I ended up throwing it all away. The fruit I grabbed was pretty terrible too. As for meat, I didn't even bother buying any after seeing what they had to offer. Haven't been back to once since then.

So yeah, they're cheap AF but that definitely shows in the quality of the food they sell.

I like Aldi. Its like a bite-sized Cosco. Can get some cool random finds or more obscure flavors/versions of things.

I haven't been to an Aldi in years because I don't carry around loose change lol. Also, the last several times I did go to Aldi, I distinctly remember finding at least one quarter still inside a cart, so I guess you could say I'm a pessimist as a result of this, because I don't expect this to happen the next time I go, even though statistically there's a good chance.
