Plenty of great games, but Kazooie was ranked in my Top 20 games and the only one from the collection that landed in my Top 100

...I never played any of the others more than once tbqh (including PD). I just looked it up and unfortunately it was Xbone exclusive and MS never ported it to Windows. Dang. I mean, I get not giving it to Sony or Nintendo, but...

This might be the Xbox exclusive I want a PC port of most.

Really tough choice between Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark, but ultimately decided on PD. Banjo could definitely be considered the best platformer of its time, but later platformers like Mario Odyssey just put it to shame.

And the thing about Perfect Dark - I don't think anything modern has topped that style of shooter. After every shooter became Halo-ized, nothing like PD was ever really made again. And the Perfect Dark remaster on this collection absolutely holds up. Dual stick controls and far sharper graphics go a long way. I just absolutely loved playing through it to the point I beat everything on Perfect Agent. There's really no experience like those old school N64 shooters. I guess the new Wolfensteins kind of replicate that style, but with heavy stealth and more traditional weapons, it's really not a comparable experience.

And I will never stop ranting about Banjo-Tooie being an extremely mediocre game. Everybody shits on DK64, but Tooie has far more egregious design choices. Bloated, bland, boring. So many jiggies are nothing more than walking huge distances with no obstacles or challenge in the process. They wanted to make a huge interconnected world, but they lost the seamless and engaging fun of the original. Tooie is the definition of a game of its time that doesn't hold up.

I guess everyone's in agreement that Battletoads sucks but still deserves to be listed?

It's the worst Battletoads game but I'd still take it over several things in the collection

Nuts and Bolts is a great game, maybe #3 in the collection for me (counting the two VP games together as #2 because theyre basically the same game)

Tooie is better
