Dang, so close, I also picked 44 matches correctly but came up just short in some of the biggest matches in the last week. Should have had more faith in Garrus...

I dunno I think the string from like 2018-2020 was pretty unimpressive too. Louise looks worse based on some of the other characters she beat but I dont think shes a bad character by herself.

My biggest issue with Louise as winner isn't the character (who's great, if not on par with some of her better competition) but the extremely low vote counts of that whole year (the finals ended up being 7-6 I believe)

Modern years v older years is weird, because yeah it's unlikely some of these winners (looking at you Joe) will have the lasting impact to compete if it was run 10 years later

Then again the rat from Ratatouille did great here so who knows

Garrus was in the middle of some calibrations, so he didn't have time to win this contest.

in fairness Joe was in a fairly weak year

To be fair to Louise Belcher, I just looked more closely at the past winners and I had no clue who 2020s winner was. Had to Google search him. I mustve missed that contest entirely.

Maybe Joe Gardner is the most obscure winner? Not sure if hes worse than Belcher or not.

I feel like Edelgard might be the most obscure but I've also never played the Fire Emblem series

Valka from HTTYD2 is probably the weirdest runner-up imo but 2014 was a weak year overall

It's also funny seeing Oberyn Martell and Lyanna Mormont being the only two GoT characters to ever make the finals

We could have had one of the best video game characters (GLaDOS) and one of the best cinematic/literary characters (Daniel Plainview) in the finals, but Plainview was ousted by...Remy of all characters.
