So my friend is playing it, he's fighting Dharkon, and I know there's more to come afterwards

He thought the final boss was Galeem so this may kill him

How long is the third bit where you end up fighting both at once? Is it as long as the other two parts?

For the true ending, yes.

you can skip a good number of those fights but you have to keep both sides balanced as you make your way through the map. at least I think that's how you do it.

edit: nvm I guess you have to do them all. but you do have to do them all while keeping balance

Oh no I may be wrong there. I remember you have to keep things balanced but I thought you had to do everything.

I totally feel this, I finally got to galeem after tons of laboring, I thought it wa slong enough as it was. Then when dharkon came it killed it for me for a long while, maybe a year later I plowed through what I had left (2/3 of the routes) of dark world then got to the final world and have not picked it back up since

it's wild how hard I hit World of Light 100% and loved it all the way through, I'm shocked with how long it is that I stuck with it

I was trying to unlock every character through world of light so it was pretty obvious when it wasn't beaten yet because I still hadn't unlocked Cloud! He's like literally one of the last ones you get.

I'm pretty sure I beat every challenge in World of Light. I didn't think it was too bad.

There's no real story in this, not sure why someone would keep at it if they weren't having fun.

I don't remember it being too terribly long, though. I think I beat it in only a handful of sittings.

The best part of WoL is the penultimate battle where you get to play as Master Hand. So many people stopped early and robbed themselves of this.

IIRC he's in one of the three parts in the dark world that you can do in any order, so it doesn't have to be that late. There are four characters that are in a worse position.

Agreed, this was far and away my fav part (And it's aggravating that you can't replay it!). But I can't blame people for dropping out earlier, the mode imo gets repetitive long before the end comes round. It could've done with more unique and interesting sequences like that one.

Best part of the WoL by far.

If you beat everything in the final area then youll end up balanced no matter what order you do it in

EDIT: You dont HAVE to fight everything to get the best ending, but you do have to beat all 4 Hands

I just beat it, and can confirm the penultimate thing is amazing.

As for why I kept playing it, iirc the ability to change the menu music is locked behind this, that's why.
