in my experience, they're only there to give basic advice, not specific advice, all stuff you can read in a fucking book. useless.

They definitely don't because they have to deal with large numbers of people and some people end up being samey

I'm sorry you've had bad therapists.

You know how much time and money it cost to become a therapists and how little they make. They do this job because they care. (in most cases, like everything else there are people who suck)

Last time I talked to my psychiatrist I told her I couldn't control how I feel about things. She said "huh, that's weird"

I'm glad you're seeing a psychiatrist, I've been working on some heavy shit for a while and we've just hit a point where I'm gonna start working on some self esteem stuff. Mirror work, unhooking negative thoughts, that stuff. It's good, healing shit, and regardless of your sentiment itt I hope it all goes well for you.

That being said, were you having an episode where you jumped around going "ooga booga" at a black guy?

no, I was trying to be wacky because I thought you were supposed to "act crazy" in a ward. it was a doctor actually. the ooga booga thing was the first thing that jumped into my head I wasn't congnizant of it being racist at the time I'm very stupid

Like holy shit snu, get it together, that's actually disgusting.

I've had great therapists who listened and could provide guidance in the way of homework to help me gain the tools that I lacked to deal with the problems I had. Mostly depression and anxiety stuff at first along with gender dysphoria, then help with being able to deepen relationships I had with others.
