Is Evangelion worth watching or should I just read the manga? Everything I hear is like, "Well this is OK but it like messes up the ending but as long as you watch this first half of this movie and then 3.0 you are pretty much fine" type shit.

Yeah... that was uh... intense. I mean, super interesting, but I still can't piece together how that element of the past will lead us to where they currently are in the story? Hrmmmm

Last night I finished watching Lost Song, and oh my god that might have just been my newest 10/10 anime. I had only planned on watching episodes 7 and 8 before bed, but I ended up staying up and binging the whole rest of the series after a massive plot twist turned the show on its head in a way that I never would have expected. Then on top of that, the ending was so good that I'm still hyped about it and instead of sleeping I ended up searching for and downloading a bunch of songs from the anime.

I might end up dropping it down to a 9/10 after the emotional high of the ending wears off and I think about it more (I've done the same with several other shows that felt like a 10/10 in the moment) but I'll have to wait and see how I feel about it in a few days.

I mean I did say exactly when it happens, did I not? They did embellish it a lot more in the anime though, it originally didn't have any blood flying around or at least not as much and it focused on her arm when it hit the ground for a single panel instead of following it as it came flying off.
Which is to say the anime delivers an alternative experience instead of just a 1 for 1 copy of the manga or a made up plot.... so far at least.

I got more info on the OT board, and it looks like I'm dropping the show. A shame, because I've been really enjoying it so far. Maybe once it ends, someone who watched it subbed can make some notes on when any more gory moments happen, and then I'll try watching the show again with the English dub. That way, I know when to close my eyes to avoid seeing those moments and I don't miss any important dialogue while doing so.

It's not that bad, maybe every couple of volumes something like that happens and I don't think there's anything like that for at least a second or maybe third season. Really picks up after around 80-100 chapters but it's still sparse and the anime is on like chapter 22 or something.

I'm just not going to chance it. If it's really clear the rest of the way, someone can tell me after it finishes.

Yep, things escalated very quickly at the end of this week's episode.

The first episode of Lycoris Recoil's English dub dropped on Crunchyroll today too. Not quite as good as the Japanese version, but still very good and definitely worth a dubbed re-watch later on. Chisato's Japanese VA set such an incredibly high bar that it seemed like there was no chance that the dub could match it... which turned out to be correct in the end, but her English VA gave it one hell of a try. She sounded amazing.
