I kinda dig it; The murders this time around have a nice extra layer of convolution that I love. Like, they have some entertaining moments, but they have way too much gross out and just wtf "humor" at times, and they pop up SO often. Part of me is a little disappointed that Kiyo actually did kill Angie too; The possibility of everyone having to spend at least one more whole chapter with a confirmed murderer who killed someone else in the group? That'd be a pretty brutal and interesting dynamic. But even still, 3 had a lot of batshit twists and turns. I knew Kiyo was a freak, but jesus christ. There's some insane characters in this franchise, but he might be up there for most loopy. Fucking his sister, taking on part of her personality after she died, and killing people he likes so his dead sister has "friends" of his choosing in the afterlife? Holy motherfucking shit that's wild. Great secondary antagonist. I feel so bad for Himiko. Her opening up and weeping at the end of the chapter was one of the most heart wrenching moments in the series so far. I think the mystery, obvious or not, is fairly well put together and I like Tsumikis psycho turn in the context of the story as it plays out in later chapters. If anything, Hiyoko should have been the main target, and Ibuki should have been caught in the crossfire, not the other way around. It was just such a weak fucking motive from the get go too. Like, most of the killings, as sadistic as Momokuma is, he tends to stay out of the actual murders themselves. But with 2-3, it felt like he was just like "lol, now ya'll have a disease that basically takes away your free will, lol have fun." It just feels so contrary to the rest of the motives, it takes away the tension, and really reduces the impact of Ibuki and Himiko's death's; they weren't killed because someone had it out for them, they were killed because "ohohoho, Mikan has "the Remembering disease", and now she's crazy!!!" Fuck 2-3.
