Just got to Flagstaff AZ. Made a stop in Scottsdale first to return the cat.

All in all, 28 hours on the road without sleep only stopping for bathroom breaks. Wife is a pussy when it comes to driving especially on the interstate, doubly so in the mountains so I drove every bit.

I think I'll go to sleep now. Grand Canyon tomorrow then Vegas until Monday!

Cabins are fucking awesome. My whole extended family would go to this place in the woods every few years in NH (on Squam Lake in case anyone wants to look up the specific area) and it was all cabins. I loved every fucking second of it. I wish we still did it. It was a tradition for most of my life but we stopped after my grandparents passed away.

My apartment used to kinda remind me of it a little bit. The kitchen had a fake dark-stained wood aesthetic that looked like a cabin and I was really into that but when it got renovated, landlord redid it all entirely and changed that. Depressed me a bit for a while but I'm used to it now. Still, whoever said they're staying in a cabin soon, have the best time! :) I'm jealous, but like happy jealous

Went to see Jack White last night and the show was wild. Played less than two hours and crammed in 22 songs. He brought a DJ/hype man on tour that played music prior to the show, spoke to the crowd, and introduced the bands.

DJ mentioned that the band has no idea other than the beginning and end of the show what they are playing. Jack will just play whatever he feels like and they'll have to keep up. That seemed to be true cause at the end of each song the rhythm and drums would just continue while Jack bounced around to another instrument and started playing something else and they'd transition their beat into the next song. At one point he dropped his guitar to sit down at the piano, bang on it a bit, then play a minute snippet of another song before hopping up and finishing the original song. It was just a frantic continuous stream of music for the entire concert.

last time I was at liquor store, I bought a bottle of "Dead Man's Ale" (specifically a variety called Rogue). Never heard of it but it looked pretty good ($9 a bottle for a bit over a pint, on sale, closeout for $5 which is why I decided to try it. I like closeout booze deals like that). It's got a Day of the Dead looking skeleton motherfucker on the bottle, so I'm gonna crack that open soon and see how it is. Looks tasty and is strong but not overly so (like 7%ish)

That dead man's ale is good. Got it open with my teeth because I wanted to prove to myself that last time I did that wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. Actually seems easy to do now if you're careful lol. Flavor is superb. It tastes as strong as it is but nothing overpowers. It's an ale but not an IPA and I'm really not into those so I wouldn't have picked it up if it was. I'm no beer expert but it tastes light to medium, no gimmicks. It was half off, definitely worth that. Probably wouldn't have noticed it at full price tbh and would I get it at full price? no. Still, delicious at a discount.

oh and to whomever makes the next topic... I highly recommend a Bacardi 151 reference tbh

Do you mean Rogue Dead Guy Ale? I need to revisit that. It is supposed to be a Maibock, which is supposed to be lager, but it is brewed with ale yeast instead. An odd, classic beer.
