My whole extended family would go to this place in the woods every few years in NH (on Squam Lake in case anyone wants to look up the specific area) and it was all cabins. I loved every fucking second of it. I wish we still did it. It was a tradition for most of my life but we stopped after my grandparents passed away. My apartment used to kinda remind me of it a little bit. The kitchen had a fake dark-stained wood aesthetic that looked like a cabin and I was really into that but when it got renovated, landlord redid it all entirely and changed that. Depressed me a bit for a while but I'm used to it now.
