There is a small section of the trans community that has no desire to get surgery or pass/appear as their identified gender but still want access to the identified genders pronouns/restrooms etc. What's your opinion on that? Or just that group in general.

Well, it's not so much "ditching" as "repurposing". It helps that's everything's analogous and the nerve endings are mostly pretty similar: what happens is that the surgeon basically re-arranges everything. It's my understanding the area is actually numb for a bit post-surgery, because the brain has to figure out what the fuck is going on with the nerves the euphoria is instant though, apparently.

According to every girl I've encountered who has had it done, the results are spectacular. They've come a long way in terms of both form and function. But that's a ways off for me. Gender confirmation surgery/bottom surgery is expensive, but also not something you really want to cheap out on: your first shot is by far your best.

Also worth noting that you have to get a ton of hair electrolysed off of the skin down there, because some of that is going to end up inside and you don't want hair growing inside. I imagine it's very painful, but my friend said getting an orchiectomy i.e. testicle removal first makes it much easier, for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who has ever had testicles.

That first question is impossible to really give a straight answer to: I was always a girl. On some level, I always knew that. I always gravitated towards tom boys, I pestered by grandmother to paint my nails, etc. etc.
And even once I understood that and what it meant, I still had to accept that. And then act on it.

Also: "Fully-transitioned"? There's no such thing. Life is transition. We're always growing and evolving. I'll be learning new things about myself (both relating to and not relating to my experience of my gender and my gender expression) for the rest of my life.
This kind of phrasing is common from cis people, because they rarely think even half as much about this kind of thing.

And yes, my family is pretty accepting. Which is good, because I might be homeless otherwise.

That's a great question, but hard to answer. I suppose the phoenix: I actually want to get a tattoo of a phoenix rising from ashes in trans pride colors. The theme of rebirth really resonates with me.

And I always did like Athena and Hades. The former because she was the smart, badass lady who nonetheless managed to still suck, as all Greek gods do/did and Hades...I feel like he gets a bum rap. Dude's just lonely, so desperately lonely he kidnapped his niece to make her visit him once in a while. I just imagine him sliding into the other God's DMs, fishing for invites to the wild sex parties Zeus is always throwing, but he just gets ghosted because he's sad and weird.

Because I was sad that Venusaur was unavailable in Ruby/Sapphire, then happy when Fire Red/Leaf Green were announced.

I've been on hormones for a year and a month now. Feminizing HRT works thusly:

Estradiol - Either orally via pills, through the skin via patches, or injected intramuscularly
Spironolactone - Testosterone blocker and diuretic. That's as annoying as it sounds orally via pills.
Progesterone - Promotes feminine fat distribution, mood stability, and erectile function, oddly enough. Typically orally via pills.
All hormones used in HRT are bio-identical including testosterone, of course .

As for your actual question: I first learned of that I was growing breasts around two months in, when I fumbled a bag bundle I was lifting. It slammed into my chest, and I yelped in pain and dropped it. It was pretty bad, and I barely had breast tissue at the time! I imagine the pain is somewhat proportional to the size of your breasts. Can't really say if that was better or worse, but it sure fucking sucked. It's close, I'd say.

Not quite, some surgeons won't touch patients who had an orchi because of the extra scar tissue. Additionally, the skin will shrink meaning less donor site material. And healing from an additional procedure isn't necessarily all that great. Though it would help a ton if spironolactone is kicking your ass.

Transition is a subjective process. What being done means is going to vary from person to person. I'll take this opportunity to detail some common procedures:

Laser hair removal/Electrolysis: Trans women typically get this for their faces, as male-pattern facial hair isn't affected by altering the hormonal balance much. Laser is less intensive/thorough and doesn't work well on light hair, but generally more readily available. Both are painful, expensive, and time-consuming.

Top surgery: Refers to either a mastectomy (for trans men) or breast augmentation (for trans women). Not all trans women opt for it myself likely included.
One thing I can say about breasts is that it's impossible to forget you have them, so I doubt many trans men who can get it wouldn't.

Gender confirmation surgery/Bottom surgery: Refers to the suite of reconstructive surgeries designed to fashion one's genitals into better genitals. Intensive as hell regardless of what you're getting.

Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS): Basically resculpting the skeletal structure of the face and shifting facial fat around to create a markedly more feminine appearance. They wrap your face up like a mummy's after. Also intensive and expensive, have a fantastic Twitter thread I saved breaking it down.

Oh, I meant to answer this one stealth bump.

I work in the Bakery department at a Whole Foods. Specifically, I am a Retail TM: I work the counter and pack shit out. Customers typically have a really hard time grasping that this means I don't bake anything, nor do I decorate cakes. I'm actually pretty bad at cake writing: quite a few of us. If you want to have your cake written on by someone talented, the best way is to order in advance. The next best way is to come in the morning.

The worst way is to come in at quarter to 9 (a.k.a. 15 minutes before we close) and ask the poor retail TM you misgendered to write on it. They're always incredulous that I'm the only one in my small department 15 minutes before we close.

As for how I like it...it's okay. It's a million times better than Front End, which is to say it still sucks. But there's this fucking fascinating and totally gorgeous enby in my department, and we talk a lot. They're 1000% neurodivergent and some of the shit they say is absolutely fascinating. Also, they seem really comfortable around me, because they don't suppress their tics as much (not that their tics are super noticeable, mind you).
