Oh, I meant to answer this one stealth bump.

I work in the Bakery department at a Whole Foods. Specifically, I am a Retail TM: I work the counter and pack shit out. Customers typically have a really hard time grasping that this means I don't bake anything, nor do I decorate cakes. I'm actually pretty bad at cake writing: quite a few of us. If you want to have your cake written on by someone talented, the best way is to order in advance. The next best way is to come in the morning.

The worst way is to come in at quarter to 9 (a.k.a. 15 minutes before we close) and ask the poor retail TM you misgendered to write on it. They're always incredulous that I'm the only one in my small department 15 minutes before we close.

As for how I like it...it's okay. It's a million times better than Front End, which is to say it still sucks. But there's this fucking fascinating and totally gorgeous enby in my department, and we talk a lot. They're 1000% neurodivergent and some of the shit they say is absolutely fascinating. Also, they seem really comfortable around me, because they don't suppress their tics as much (not that their tics are super noticeable, mind you).
