Unique Rules for the game on top of general rules already established

1. There will be an anti claim mechanic in the game for the mafia team. If you claim your role, it will make it easier for the mafia to harm you in some fashion if the mafia input it correctly. However if they guess a town member's role wrong there will be a punishment instead. Be very wary of this mechanic if you are town. You have been warned. The effect of this anti-claim becomes weaker as the game progresses. It is at its strongest night 1, and dissipates after that.
1a. Please be aware that if the Mafia can reasonably guess your role based off a hint you provide in the game to your role this counts for anticlaim purposes. Saying I scanned this person town but not Hey guys I am Cop! will not save you from the anticlaim mechanic.
2. There are 12 Town and 4 Mafia. Additionally, at mylo/lylo votes are locked. Meaning once you place a vote down it cannot be removed.
3. If a town player dies at night they may optionally leave a journal entry to be read the next morning on day start. This journal can be no more than 200 words. Anyone may submit a journal every night, but only dying players get posted.
4. There is no over time. If the day ends in a tie it will be randomized. If you don't like this, don't let the day end in a tie. I will need a co host that can be on during eod if I am unable to be.
5. The players have voted for Role Madness. You don't know exactly what this means yet.
6. As is standard in my games, flavor claims and flavor mentions are strictly prohibited. This is solely for player enjoyment.
7. I just had to put up with a very, very toxic player player who told another player to slit their wrists in a game. I am in no mood to tolerate any sort of rudeness or toxicity from my friends here on Board 8. Please keep this in mind, I expect you all to treat each other like adults and with dignity. Keep it about play if you critique, not the player.
8. The first hour of the first day is considered RVS - Random Voting Stage. I will not be keeping track of votes during this first hour because I am a (figurative) child. If you place a vote during this time and wish for it to be counted you will need to place a valid vote after the hour has expired.
9. Lastly, a sincere warning to all of my friends playing this game. It is highly advised you do not try to meta your expectations of what this game is from past experience with me.

Sometimes life feels like a fever dream. In the moment everything is clear and crisp, and I know that because if it wasnt we would feel troubled about it then and there. Only that crispness of old moments fades into a blur with the passage of time. It becomes something different as we try to look back into the rear view mirror.

My first baseball game was aired on WGN, and I was sitting in an obnoxiously teal colored room. The paint was glossy and I absolutely hated it, I had wanted it mat but was too young to understand that. It was the Chicago Cubs taking on the Reds. I dont know who won that day, but I remember loving listening to Harry Carey just ramble on for the entire game. I loved baseball in that first moment.

As a young child I always enjoyed math the most. My mind has always felt a draw to numbers and statistics, so even when some of the equations confused me I always loved pouring over the stats in those early years of my fandom. I didnt know much about records or anything, just that when I got home from elementary school Id take off my backpack and because of Wrigley Fields start times there was usually a Cubs game on even though I lived in Florida. We didnt have a team until a few years later down in Miami, so there werent any local teams to compete for my heart.

I wanted to be a professional baseball player. That never happened, but through the years as I grew up and then aged baseball never left my heart. It still aches sometimes. Mark Grace was my favorite player back then. He just seemed to be really great and nice, and I liked that about him.

I think one of my favorite things about hosting a baseball themed mafia game is my ability to pierce the veil of my past and share with my friends a part of my life that I only think about in passing but matters so much to me. Baseball! I have played baseball video games for 25 years now. I have gotten to go to games, although not enough of them, and I have cried both tears of anguish and unbridled joy solely because of baseball. I find that wonderful. As I get older I reflect more on what makes me the person I am and what is a part of my routine. I cannot deny the fact that baseball is a part of my identity.

I love music too, so all flavor in this game will be accompanied by something to listen to as you go. That probably wasnt too hard to figure out.

Game Starts at 7pm EST, or in approximately four hours. Day 1 will last 72 hours. I may not be around at that time, so you may begin playing without further prompting from me at that time. GLHF!

Oh hey, I'm awake at start.

Don't expect that to be a recurring thing, I live in Denmark. Also probably don't expect much activity before I have slept if I am here at 7pm est; if I leave without doing anything, I'm just asleep at a reasonable time.

Just thought I'd begin by reminding people that since this is essentially my first game here that I don't start on day 8 lol.

I do appreciate that it will probably force less role meta stuff.

So I'll use the chaos no votey time to talk about a different mindset I'm gonna try to have for this game

Past few mafia games I've played been putting too much time into it to the point where it's been distracting me from things I need to actually be paying more attention to than mafia. I actually had to quit Star Wars mafia cause of that potentially happening and man I was so sad cause that setup was cool

I'm trying to find a medium that is somewhere between "PLAY TO WINNN!!! WINNN!!!" and "don't sign up for mafia games"

So let's hope this works. Give me ur power we can do this

I think we should vote Ulti before Ben. Make him show his work and eviscerate him with scathing notes and red marks in the margins.

No I think Lopen is very much a good player, and whenever he says anything along those lines he is scum more often than not. Soul, FFT, and FF7 mafias are all evidence of it.

This boy bringing up 10+ year old games no one remembers or will fact check to try and force this issue.
