and also- when i had to- drive the smallest vehicle that didn't qualify as a car

school bus, short bus, RV, big truck, whatever

You went straight to hoping really big cars aren't cars instead of going with a motorcycle?

Gotta go with the chickens. Even if I were well trained and felt I had a decent chance at killing the orangutan, one screwup and it's over. And when I get older, it'll be harder and harder. I'd be doomed to die by having an ape chew my hands and face off until I bleed out.

Chickens weigh 6 pounds and their necks aren't hard to strangle or break. And if you get a hold of one, you can just hold it upside down. It will rapidly be overtaken by tonic immobility - an upside chicken is as good as dead and 'calms down' quickly. And if it's a death match, you win - the upside down chicken will die because they have no diaphragm.

I think you folks are overestimating the chicken encounter!

Chickens are pretty easy.

Not to mention you can avoid cars pretty easily.
It comes down to an avoidable pretty simple fight. Vs an unavoidable potentially deadly fight.

Chicken every time.

How much of a "fight" would they have to be? Because I'm not too far off from the chicken one, we've got a few pet chickens that hang around outside, including a couple roosters, one of which can be a little aggressive every now and then but it's easy for me to notice when he's planning on attacking me, to which I just press the bottom of my shoe against him until he runs off.

The amount of people that think they can take out an orangutan no problem with a sword in this topic is astounding. I suppose if you knew the fight was coming once a year and took fencing lessons to prepare for that first fight especially youd fare decently after that. If the orangutan is aggressively trying to kill you in the fight itd still be nerve racking. By the time you were 50 something years old youd truly be struggling.

An aggressive chicken is still fodder and its neck can be snapped in seconds, even by 80 year old grandmas. Just an annoyance to deal with. Give me the chicken.

if it's once every year maybe they're taking that time to train, and then after a few years they become chimp chopping champions
