America is getting dangerously close to the third reich (they also banned abortion if I remember correctly).

America also has a racial and gender based hierarchy engrained in the fabric of our country since the founding that we sweep under the rug rather than address.

I feel like Trump came along and spoke the quiet hateful parts people were thinking out loud. The Republican Party has regressed since Romney (and then it was fringe).

I think you grossly overestimate the amount of nazis out there. I live in an area that is not exactly racially diverse, and in my 41 years, I've only ever met one.

They are more common in diverse cities. I live in a city and I have encountered a bunch.

basically all Nazis are sad dumb losers who blame minorities for their failures in life.

Eh, I feel like the Nazis are overused. If anything I will say America is like post Punic wars Rome in that we are victims of our own success, disunified & constantly at each others throats. The distrust of the Senate and interest of circumventing the republic either through greater presidential autonomy or the supreme court also fits.

This, except I've never met one. Also, this has already been settled by the Supreme Court in the Skokie case.

We shouldn't want to censor ourselves, or wish to be censored by others. If what someone is saying is bad, then face societal punishment, don't make it illegal.

While that works in Germany (and other European countries), where the law is pretty much set in stone to what is and isn't Nazi ideas beyond a shadow of doubt, in America, we have too many bad actors that will label anything they don't agree with as Nazi ideas. Such a law will be abused here, hate speech laws can't work here, especially in this polarizing climate.

It is named after the fasces, a symbol of ancient authority. The person that held the fasces could expect his orders to be obeyed and had the power of life or death over his subjects. Mussolini adopted this symbol to show he had supreme authority over those he governed. Strangely enough, you see this symbol all over the place in the US, most prominent in the house chamber. I always find it interesting every time the President gives the state of the union seeing the fasces behind him. Just one of the many strange symbols all over the place in the US.

I always thought it was a weird looking symbol myself & certainly didn't seem too imposing. At first, I thought that the bundle of sticks around the axe meant that the ruler was supposed to use his power over people judiciously (the sticks are containing the axe handle), but evidently the sticks represent the power to beat & the axe represents the power to execute, so it is not so much a symbol of judicious use of power, but more a of a symbol of I own you bitch & can do whatever I want to you, so don't mess with me.

There seems to be two different kinds of eugenics. Some people want to eliminate mental diseases using eugenics like say anything that severely effects the brain.
