Arguments for Ike:

• he can use Aether, which triples his attack power
• if DK shoots Ike's friends, it's gonna hurt DK

Arguments for DK:

• he can create shockwaves with his fists, which could be very effective against a human
• a well-timed punch from DK can be devastating
• he could just walk off the edge with Ike >_>;

Last topic Spike's various monkey-catching traps were no match for DK's superiority in practically every category. Today is a Nintendofest, starring the star of various Fire Emblem games. Ike can handle entire armies, but can he deal with a Kong?

There's a pic on the Brawl Dojo of Ike owning DK with his Final Smash, which is what inspired me to nominate Ike. I'm going to stick with the pic.

I've never played Ike's FE games so I can't speak to his capabilities there. I think I'd favor Ike in a direct fight, but could DK win? Maybe.

So Zelgius, a character roughly equivalent to Ike in story capabilities, canonically defeats Skrimir, the third-strongest war lion in Ike's universe, in a single round. How many magnitudes stronger than Simba do you imagine Donkey Kong being?

I believe DK is disadvantaged in all categories. In range, Ike's swords shoot lasers that hurt just as much as getting hit by the actual blade, which travel faster than coconut gun shots (but not at a faster rate). In strength, DK has a lot more brute force, but Ike is hardly a slouch and likely takes less damage from DK than DK takes from him just due to the nature of swordplay. And morally, Donkey Kong is willing to hunt down an entire race, then watches the extermination of their homeland a year later. Ike would look at that and say, "I don't see Kongs or Kremlings, just people who love bananas." DK's worldview would expand from such a statement, realizing that other people can love bananas, too, leaving him wide open in a moment of emotional vulnerability.

Have to give it to Ike in most circumstances. Best thing DK's got is that he's significantly more agile and likely physically stronger, but Ike plays a better long game and has heart.

Ike stomps

Ike is absurdly strong. Way above the average FE character. For DK to take this you'd have to take his "punches out the moon" feats 100% seriously and even then I'm not sure about it.

Ike disarms DK

The sheer overpoweredness of Aether.

DK has a tie, and therefore is a gentleman. He wins against Ike, who is not a gentleman.

Ike. There's way too many advantages.

Even the resident dk hype guy can't pull anything out, I guess I have to bow to the swordsmen here

Ike's main advantages are scaling directly to Alondite and the Black Knight, which DO get crazy strong respect. BK surviving an entire castle falling on him AFTER Ike has fought him, and Ike only going up from there and going blow for blow until overwhelming BK AFTER having fought a full battle beforehand, puts him pretty damn high. I do think DK has the mobility advantage still - Ike is fast, but Jungle Beat DK is on a whole 'nother level in terms of reaction speed, going from standing to backflipping and kicking a coconut in midair so hard it kills an armadillo man faster than eyes can keep up with a lot of the time, not to mention the sheer speed of the Konga Rush fists.

I do think DK would be able to take more blunt force than Ike, but swords and lasers cut. If Ike was a cestus user, I'd give it to DK, he's CLEARLY bigger, faster, and stronger, too. But all DK has to do is make one mistake and Ike has the advantage, and it's shown that Ike... pretty much never stops training and doing mercenary work from PoR on. DK is a LOT more laid back. I see scenarios where DK CAN win, but I feel like I have to look for those compared to going "if Ike lands the hit and makes DK bleed, it's really hard for DK to recover", whereas Ike would need to get punched by DK square on with no bracing for DK to capitalize. And since Ike's got the range advantage (and lasers are fast) AND mid-battle healing in aether, I see him getting out of this more times than not.

I think Donkey Kong finally has met his maker (unless I've misread and this topic series is DK only). If Ike can take out an entire army, Ike can take out someone else who can take out an entire army... and he also has armor and a sword and stuff as opposed to bareness.
