Smart boy. Doing either of those right now are terrible choices. Lay some ground rules and tell him he has a month to really put time into learning something and if he can't do it then kick him out.

In my case, while I do live with my mom, I don't just freeload here. I pay the electric bill, I prepare all the meals, I do the dishes, I do my own laundry.

But I don't do volunteer work because pfff why?
